It's still early, but PWInsider.com is reporting that the HWA (Heartland Wrestling Association), in conjunction with Melanie Pillman, is planning on holding a Pillman Memorial show next year. Details as they are available on PWInisder.com and hwaonline.com

There was a memorial show the first four or five years after his death then I guess they stopped.

There were several Pillman shows. It was an annual event. They quit doing them when HWA became a WWE developmental territory. I'm glad to see it coming back!

Its funny I see this thread, because I'm not joking when I say I am currently typing this, while wearing my Pillman '99' shirt. I went to 99,2000, and 2001, which was the last I believe.

Hwaonline.com is plugging Saturday, April 5, 2008 as the date for the show, but nothing else.

got a tape of the 2001 event that I havent watched yet.. really thought it was a cool event and hopefully they will pick out another worthy cause and donate some of the money.
on a side note it always bothered me that Kevin Nash said he would donate 10K to the pillman fund at a show and got the big pop and then never ponied up. I maybe wrong but I don't think he has ever paid them.

The 2001 Pillman memorial is one I've never seen anyone say they have on any the tape trading message boards. Same for 1999.

Here is Missy's quote from that transcript (by Brandon Truitt):
The Brian Pillman Memorial Show incident between her and Kevin Nash- Nash offered $20,000 to the Pillman fund if she would strip in the ring. She wanted to do it because the fund needed the money, but there were kids at ringside. Instead of doing a full striptease, she and Torrie Wilson both danced around the ring and did some partial stripping in order to get Nash’s money. Nash only ended up paying $10,000 and that has caused a HUGE stink among veterans like Missy and the Honky Tonk Man because the money is for a good cause and Nash’s reasons for opting out (“My accountant said it’s a bad idea”) are f*****g BULLS**T. There was a rumor in one of the wrestling newsletters later that Nash was interested in going to the next Pillman show but promoter Les Thatcher had said that Nash would only be allowed in if they frisked him for the rest of the money at the door.

Yeah, I was there and Missy flexed her boobs in 99 and 2001, Lol. But I knew she wouldn't strip, as well she shouldn't had, with all the kids there. But I do have a good pic of Raven flipping the bird at us for chanting "Johnny Polo" and "Scotty Flamingo" at him.

I'd much rather see early era Missy Hyatt boobs than modern era Missy Hyatt boobs. Oh yeah, and very cool that they're bringing back the Pillman Memorial show. They always sounded like funs shows.

To the best of my knowledge, this is the only one they have ever done. Les Thatcher, who was really good friends with Pillman, organized the events. I don't know if he is involved with this one or not, they still haven't released a whole lot of details.

Seems like somebody does a memorial show whenever a wrestler dies, but not very often are the kept as an annual event.

The 2001 Pillman memorial is one I've never seen anyone say they have on any the tape trading message boards. Same for 1999. I sort of flipped through it. The DVD is VHS quality and the audio runs in and out. All the matches are there and everything though. If anyone wants to do a trade let me know. Lots of future stars on that show including: Nigel McGuiness, Eugene, Charlie Haas, Rico, Rob Conway, Randy Orton, Ron Waterman (who went on to fame in Pride Fighting), Shark Boy and Danny Basham. Plus lot of guys that were already established stars like the Hardys, Edge, Steve Corino and Bobby Eaton.

It has been confirmed for April 5, 2008 at the Norwood Middle School Fieldhouse, where the first one was, lucky for me, that's only five minutes away. Here's a link where info will be posted: www.myspace.com/pillman10years
