Well, sure Massif is like John Studd, but John Studd was never a commissioner. Gorilla Monsoon was.

It just occured to me that Lord Nexus (2087 version) looks almost like a young Bruno Sammartino.

I don't know if this was mentioned before, or if it was intentional, but Morpheus reminds me a lot of Killer Kowalski. Both were vicious, powerful heels in their time with similar intimidating appearances. Also, I was watching a tape of Wrestlemania 14, and at one point they do a commercial with all the legends talking. Kowalski is shown standing their with a cane...the exact same pose and look as in the Morpheus 2097 card!
As I said, I don't know if this was intentional or not...just something to think about.

Does Tom's new book answer any of these?

How about these two: Infinity (Classics-3000) is Silver Surfer The name of the game alone is similar: CHAMPIONS OF THE GALAXY MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE
How about Heracles (2nd drawing, Bendis) and Scott Hall in looks? Halcon Oro and Rey Mysterio Kati and Meng Destructon-4200 (Classics 3000) and The Borg Spike and Rugged Ronnie Garvin (that might be a stretch)

Heres one I don't think was mentioned.
Engima 2099 is a complete cross of The Great Muta(Style, drawing wise) and Jushin "Thunder" Lyger in terms of abilities and moveset from what I've seen.
Makes sense. Both Muto(As Muta) and Yamada(As Lyger) were pretty big in WCW, and helped pioneer the high flying style change in not only the United States but in Japan too.

Someone mentioned Big Superstar earlier in the thread. He's without a doubt Hulk Hogan.

Commander Sam is most likely a cross between Uncle Sam and Hulk Hogan

I belive when making Tristan, Tom was influenced not just by Mysterio alone but by the Cruserweight style. If you look in the 2119 hand book when listing his Tristan's moves, there is Tajiri's handsping elbow, and mysterio's 619. I belive what makes him a rey mysterio charecter is simply the art, unintentional or not.

Having just finished playing through 2089, I was wondering if perhaps the feud between Renegade and Vanity with Renegade's infatuation towards Sweet Thing was influenced at all by the WWF feud that was going on about the same time between George "The Animal" Steele and Randy "Macho Man" Savage with Steele's attraction towards Elizabeth. It might just be a coincidence, but there are some similarities.

How about Thunder and the Ultimate Warrior? I only have Thunder's Sudden Death 2104 card, and the drawing on the back looks somewhat like him, and also his bio says "Thunder is a maniac wrestler who is constantly attacking his opponent with a barrage of high-impact wrestling moves" which kind of sounds like how the Warrior was billed as.
Also, I read someplace on this website, something about a wrestler that has multiple arms (not sure of his name or anyting), was he based on Doc Ock?
How about Thantos? I always saw him as a kind of "Kingpin" from the Marvel comics. Just because he was the "leader" who always seemed to call the shots.

Amazing Mann is Harry Houdini Mayhem looked like a bloated Jay Leno Anarchy (2107) kind of looks like pumpkin-head Monad is the four armed guy that was formerly the cosmic forces Skinhead (2110) looks a little like Billy Idol. Phantasy looks like a cross of Tammy Stych and Rene Mero. Prodigy seemed to have been based on Syxx/X-pac. Brainstorm: The Genius - Frisbees - poetry = Dean Douglas. Mr. Galaxy: Tell me you didn't base a character on Tom Selick (sp?) US Patriot (2093)- really looks like another pro wrestler, but darn if the name just won't roll off the tip of my fingers. maybe it's an Armstrong? Spike: every time he talked it came out in Sylvester Stallone's voice, knocked him down a couple pegs for that. MetalHead (2099): looks like he might have been based on Steven Tyler, knocked him down 20 pegs for that . Chopper Mattock: First impression when I saw him..."Hey, this is the guy on the paper towels.", moved him up a peg for that. Count Necros= Vlad the impaler Rouser= Haystacks Calhoun Amazonia=Wonder Woman. Paragon= Kevin Nash Vendetta= Scott Hall. Ruin (2117)= Scott Steiner Aegis: looked a little like Tully Savalas Vin Strutter= Vincent Kennedy McMahon
Just some observations, though only Strutter, Mann, Vendetta, Phantasy, and Necros are probably intentional.
