I'm confused yet again about someone's finisher. ;D
Is it the submission style backbreaker or the impact style backbreaker? Is there a video of him doing it somewheres?
Help!

This is also known as a whirlybird backbreaker. Basically DLJ has the guy on his back, kinda like a Razor's Edge. But instead of dropping him forward, he would spin the guy around and then drop him to the mat.
If you check YouTube or one of those sites, there might be a clip of him doing it. I've seen footage of him from All Japan in the '70s where he used it.

Oh, cool. I always thought it was a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker.
Take care,
Jay

Try to find a match from Japan where he wrestles Mr. Wrestling (Tim Woods) to get a look at it.

I searched "Don Leo Jonathan" on YouTube after I posted here yesterday. The only match that came up was one against Rocca. I've seen that one before and I'm 98% sure he doesn't do the Mormon Swing in that match.
Maybe try some other similar video sites.

Who cares!? He sucks so bad and is even more boring than he sucks, if that's possible. No matter what Tim and Cory say.

Kevin, I asked you this before and I'll ask you this again, have you ever actually seen a Don Leo Jonathan match?! Watch one and I hope you change your tune. And if not, the next time I see you, I'm throwing a water bottle at you. (Inside joke).

I'll say this about Don Leo Jonathan in my fed: He's one big enigma.
He has held the BCW world heavyweight title, but if he wins a title, he doesn't seem to want to keep it all that long.
And the dice positively despise him, methinks. In a match I rolled recently, he twice ran into the turnbuckle and was nearly pinned. He gets stuck on Level 2 offense seemingly forever. And the MORMON SWING finisher? I'm lucky if I see that in a match -- and if I do, he doesn't seem to get a pin out of it.
Weird ...
Props for the cartwheels, though ... :-)

I like DLJ... he is now in Ilio DiPaolo's NHW and could win the title, I have plans to bring him back into my TRW as a heel and a monster to boot...

Boring?
When he faced Pedro Morales for the WWWF title in Boston and got him in up in the swing, a riot almost broke out.
That's heat.

I always saw Don Leo as a goody goody baby face, but he looks mean. Watch this entire clip even thought the boring Gino Brito and Dino Bravo interview. It's a promo for Killer Kowalski and Done Leo Jonathan vs. Ed Carpentier and Jean Ferra ( sp ) you just might know this guy. Don Leo is growing on me now that I'm learning his personality. Go ahead Tim say I told you so.

The Mormon Swing was a giant swing, a move where Jonathan would grab his opponent's legs and spin around, eventually launching them across the ring.
Jonathan didn't always use this as his finisher, though. His specialty in Japan was the highjack backbreaker, in which he lifted his opponent onto his shoulders, either in a submission maneuver or dropping them to the mat for the pin.
He also sometimes used a swinging full nelson and a senton/rolling back splash called the "Mormon Roll", I believe..

Go ahead Tim say I told you so. I told you so. It's like your issue with Japanese wrestling all over again. Now start trying to find out more about Red Bastien.
