We'd need Tsuruta as well to truely have all the big names in Japan.

Here's my opinion.
With Jushin Liger, Tiger Mask and Danny Hodge we have the three most dominant and influential junior heavyweight wrestlers of all-time. I will defer to Lucha guru's of the DB on that one, as the weight classes in Mexico are a little different.
Even if you're not into the style, it's hard not to be excited about this.

Lyger and Tiger Mask in the same set? Wow. Will these two have the same mechanic as Hodge where they are more effective against other cruisers? Yes, but thats not all. The Legends team really went all out with these guys. I can't wait to play out the match. I think we need a Junior Heavyweight Ranking in the Promoter now.

I had planned to start up a Jr. title in my fed the next game month before Tiger Mask was revealed. Now I'm very fired up for him and Liger. I also would say we need Jumbo Tsuruta and Tenryu next followed by any of the 90s guys like Muta, Chono, Misawa, Kawada.

Tim, what was the rule about signing Japanese wrestlers? I remember Tom mentioned this once when talking with Mike Lano. Could one of you all share that story?

It's hard to compare those two, lucha and puro. For my money, with the exception of possibly Dynamite Kid, we're getting two of the greatest juniors to ever step in the ring. We definitely have one of the most influential wrestlers of this generation (Tiger Mask). Once again, great job to the Legends team. I've never looked forward to a set more than I have this one. EDIT: Happy Birthday, Mr. Dalton!

This is truly awesome news. Obviously I will now be starting a Jr. Heavyweight division. This is a great signing as far as I am concerned and with this signing it has cemented this set as a GREAT set as opposed to just a good set which is kind of how I was looking at it before. Tiger Mask, Liger & The New Age Outlaws makes this a great set. The others just help make it that much better. Can't wait to see that 12th card when I get it in my mail box.

Can't really comment on the legal issues involving the Japanese wrestlers. I'm an accountant, not an attorney. I know Tom has looked into it, but I was never concerned with the details. He gives us names and we come up with card stats. Tiger Mask and Jushin Liger have some unique features that allowed us to slightly expand the moveset a bit. Still we had some tough decisions on the moves to cut.

Happy to hear Lyger is in it, as all those times I was marking out were me mostly joking. I think I'll get a few sets and have my own LOW fed to go along with my other stuff.

It's really cool to have Lyger and Mask, I'am also excited about TERRY FUNK... what version if you can say is this FUNK? I hope the hardcore version, but not over the hill though.

Okay, was Funk a joke, or is he #12?
Liger will be a great addition to the set. I'm debating on whether to push Liger and Tiger against Hodge or as a tag team.
Take care,
Jay

I do have plans for a PURE type title, my title name that I'm toying with is... WORLD ATHELTIC WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP, Lyger and Tiger Mask mixed in there with guys like Severn / Gotch / Hodge and several others will be solid. I considered having this type of title, ala Ring Of Honor a year ago. I could not really settle on the mechanics of the match. For Out Of Ring I would allow the "thrown" wrestler back if he did not roll the Count-Out results on the chart. Everything else, was a sportsmanship move where his opponent let him re-enter the ring. Any questionable move such as a punch or gouge received a penalty card and like in baseball 3 cards you were out. I called the two or three matches Purist's Rules but something never clicked and shelved the idea. What are your rules for the Pure Title? I did organize a Light-Heavyweight Tournament based on the entrance of Tiger Mask to my fed (SLAM). Now that Liger is in, I have a special way to introduce him. Here is a link to my fed in case you are interested: cotg.proboards12.com/index.cgi?board=lowcards&action=display&thread=1187966604

Be interesting to see Liger. Both he and Tiger Mask use a lot of moves, yes. But Liger has had more move changes over his longer career. What will be his finisher? The Liger Bomb? The high speed brainbuster? the shooting star press?
He really was an amazing flier originally and has moved toward a more grounded style as he aged. But both are great.
Tiger Mask and Jushin Liger. Guess this will get me back to some hardcore playing again.
