Just when it looked like Zed was going to run away with it.

More bad news for Zed.
1. Jack of Diamonds surprised Yuri with a cross body block off the ropes
2. Divine Commedia beat Brainstorm and when Comedy used Brouhaha on Brainstorm. Taurine never even got in the ring/
3. Stigma beat Zed Marlowe via Stigmata in an OFC match.
4. In a Lepus Stun Rod, Talon dropped Cypher with the Death Arc. The Stun Rod didn't play much of a role in this one.
5. Gila upset Scion Nexus via countout.
6. Pendekar beat Nero via Kanuragan.

1. Blizzard beat Excalbiur with Frostbite. Blizzard is cool and efficient and wins easily.
2. Divine Commedia beat Grunge and Yuri the Strong following a 450 Splash on Grunge. Grunge and Yuri made quite a good team but in the end Comedy catches Grunge for a pin.
3. In an OFC match, Gila upset Jack of Diamonds with Gut Check. Gila shocks people by winning a tough match.
4. In a Gutarr Stick Match, Pendekar put away Brainstorm with the Soto Makikomi. Pendekar and Brainstorm bust each other open but Pendekar holds on to win.
5. Rubicon beat Talon via No Return. Talon was setting up Rubicon only to miss a deathjump and the No Return finished things off.
6. Taurine defeated Hadrian with Adversity. Taurine wears Hadrian down and scores the victory.

Here we go. Most of the matches were pretty squashy, but hey.
Pendekar d. Blizzard (KANURAGAN)
Excalibur & Stigma d. Yuri & Grunge (STIGMATA) -- best match I had, surprisingly
OFC Match: Nero d. Gila (Tap-Out/10 tokens)
Zero Gravity Platform Match: Comedy d. Zed Marlowe (set-up move was not a finisher, sorry, forgot to write it down)
Talon d. Taurine (DEATH ARC +5!)
Brainstorm d. Jack of Diamonds (SUPERIOR INTELLECT)
Shylock d. Scion Nexus (FALLOUT +4)
Let's goooooooo Pendekar! [clap clap]

I really, really need to do an update tonight, methinks. Or tomorrow morning at the latest, considering that I feel like crap.

I'll tell you Mark, Grunge and Yuri are a strangely good pairing.

Sorry I haven't been updating more frequently, everyone. It's been a killer week at work, and I haven't had quite the free time during the day that I like.
CPC: Brink of Cataclysm Through MarkCPC's card (15 of 20)
1. Cypher (9-3-0, 37 points, up 5) 2. Pendekar (8-3-0, 36 points, up 4) 3. Shylock (8-2-0, 32 points, up 3) 4-T. Talon (8-2-0, 31 points, down 2) 4-T. Rubicon (8-2-0, 31 points, down 1) 6. Blizzard (7-5-0, 28 points, down 3) 7. Dante (7-5-0, 27 points, up 4) 8-T. Jack of Diamonds (6-5-0, 24 points, up 3) 8-T. Zed Marlowe (6-6-0, 24 points, down 7) 10-T. Scion Nexus (5-6-0, 23 points, up 3) 10-T. Excalibur (5-7-0, 23 points, down 7) 10-T. Comedy (6-6-0, 23 points, up 10) 13. Taurine (5-5-1, 19 points, down 3) 13-T. Brainstorm (5-7-0, 19 points, up 2) 15. Gila (4-7-0, 18 points, down 6) 16-T. Nero (4-6-1, 16 points, down 2) 16-T. Stigma (4-7-0, 16 points, down 1) 18. Hadrian (3-8-0, 11 points, down 3) 19. Grunge (2-9-0, 8 points, down 4) 20. Yuri the Strong (1-10-0, 3 points, down 5)
Well, my monkey has failed me, and Zed Marlowes stunning winning streak has now been matched by his stunning losing streak. On the other end of the scale, though, any of the five guys sitting at the top of the list could win this thing. While Cypher's on top, Pendekar has one more match (and opportunity for points) remaining than Cypher does, and Shylock, Talon, and Rubicon all have two more matches than Cypher. With only five cards left to play out, this should come down to the wire.

I've determined that my taking someone in these tournaments is an open invitation for them to stink up the joint. Paralyze, Lance At-Las, and now Hadrian have all failed me.

Just a reminder, everyone - I'm going to count the final scores Tuesday morning, and we've got five cards left out. If anyone knows they're going to need an extension, let me know.

My results:
Yuri the Strong defeated Brainstorm by DQ
Talon and Cypher defeated Zed and Gila when Cypher made Zed submit to the CYPHER STRETCH.
OFC Match In a dominant performance, Pendekar scored a KO against Comedy after a series of submission holds, finishing him off with the KIMURA ARMBREAKER.
Lumberjack Match Stigma was getting the better of Hadrian until the action spilled to the outside. The involvement of the lumberjacks increased each time there was a need for their "services", until Dr. Barabas' creations took things too far. The OFC members jumped in, and a wild brawl erupted. Unable to restore order, the referee declared the match a double disqualification.
Jack of Diamonds pinned Rubicon
Grunge upset Scion Nexus and scored a pinfall victory
Brainstorm-Yuri was the match of the card, followed by the Lumberjack match. Pendekar was devastating.

My only frustration with the card was that I chose a lumberjack match when I could have chosen Splatter's Arsenal Match instead.... but it worked out okay in the end.

Taurine vs. Pendekar – Pendekar with a flying cross body press. Taurine took an early lead, nearly making Pendekar submit to ADVERSITY, but he ultimately fell short. (Pendekar +3)
Talon & Cypher vs. Sons of Royalty – Talon and Cypher looked great, but their lack of teamwork cost them here, as Cypher got hit with SYNCHRONICITY twice in a row for a Nexus pin. (JOD & Scion Nexus +5)
(OFC) Hadrian vs. Shylock – Shylock by K.O. (Shylock +5)
(SM) Rubicon vs. Grunge – Rubicon wins with NO RETURN in a violent, bloody Circinus Cell match that saw Rubicon try to throw Grunge off the Cell, and Absalom get involved, helping beat the monster down. (Rubicon +5)
Gila vs. Zed Marlowe – Zed somehow survived the MOLLOCK CHOKESLAM to hit Gila with a Frankensteiner for the pin. (Zed +3)
Dante vs. Blizzard – Despite Jesterelli’s objections, Blizzard’s pinfall over Dante after the ICE STORM stood. (Blizzard +3)
Comedy vs. Stigma – Comedy beat Stigma bloody and won via countout. (Comedy +3)
