The first person to comment on a new character.........so much pressure. CRUCIBLE looks great!! The drawing fits the back story nicely, and he looks intimidating, although undersized. Mark left us a great teaser at the end as to how "the state of fear" will be determined. What do you guys think it will be? I'm personally having trouble coming up with a guess. It would seem to have something to with the opponents mind set/personality, but I'm not sure how to account for that in a way that could be incorporated into a simple chart.

You beat me to it
Love the character. Should be interesting to see how is Telepathic power will work in a match and his feud with Raze could be interesting

Very interesting character, should have some very cool storylines and unlike Mensar, I love the artwork.

It sounds like it's determined by how weak (fatigue tokens?) an opponet is. so I'll guess the more tokens someone has the more likely they are to fall prey to state of fear; with Raze having a special rule that allows it to effect him more often.

I'll put it this way.
The mechanic is simple, and it's never been done before that I can recall. And it does not involve fatigue in any way.
Mike M did quality control for the set (thanks, pal) and might be able to correct me if I'm wrong about this being a new use of a mechanic.
The starter set would be nice. It's never far from my mind, in fact.
Glad to see somebody's already swiped him for their avatar. I'll take it as a compliment! I'm not sure if Crucible or Euritar is my favorite drawing of the set, but it's definitely one of them.

As far as I can recall, I've never seen a game mechanic quite like this one... not even in the wacky (and I mean that in a good way) federation that is aCe.
It makes Crucible into a player. I haven't "play-tested" the mechanic, but when it comes into play it is significant.
I can't wait to play with this card for the first time- hopefully when Mark comes to town for the CPC Release Party. For those who aren't sure if they can come- DO IT! We'll be bringing a little bit of G-con to the Eastern seaboard, and being among the first to see Crucible is just another bit of incentive.

Considering that Raze is part of the True Way, I'm guessing that Crucible is joining The Void. Is he from Brymstone?

I love the art. The background reminds me of Vertigo and Crucible looks like a cross between Euritar and Cypher.

Yeah, I'm way behind on earlier editions (GWF 2104). I'll probably find out what happened when the 3rd GWF files comes out.
Still, Crucible looks awesome!

I'd just like to say that Darryl's art is awesome. With only two characters revealed, this already feels like it migh tbe my all-time favorite CPC drawing-wise.
