Next up we have The Burning Spirit Miyamoto Mifune. Originally created by Sam Fain I thought he would be perfect to convert. Bio is from Sams original post.
Born in the Mimasaka province (historical note, I have no clue if this
province still exists in present day Japan, it just happens to be the
birthplace of Miyamoto Musashi, generally considered the greatest samurai
and swordsman ever in Japan, called 'Kenshi' meaning sword saint.), Mifune
was trained from birth in the martial arts and Kendo, he found himself
almost dated in the real world, however as the days of Bushido and Samurai
seemed to be long over. Saddened and slightly upset by this his attitude
went from an inquiring student to a brash, loud, and quick-tempered
wanderer. He fashions himself to the old ways and is quick to defend those
unable to defend themselves, no because he likes them or wants to help, but
because he his code dictates it. Despite all this his former teacher once
said of him, "He possesses the true spirit which I have not seen in my
lifetime, it saddens me to say that even I never possessed it if only he
would learn to always apply that spirit and not just allow it take him over
alone." It seems Mifune may one day apply his spirit but for now he
fashions himself a rowdy Ronin ready to fight for what is right... with a
small fee, that is.
After seeing a wrestling show in Japan he thought perhaps that would offer
him an outlet and he idolizes the likes of Antonio Inoki, but of course he
just can't seem to actually BE like him. Mifune speaks loudly and often
and with no one to restrain him its likely to get him in trouble, he speaks
English well, but doesn't use too many big words... But that doesn't mean
he couldn't, he can't use too many big words in Japanese either! So now
thrust into the wrestling world he uses an odd combination of throws,
blinding strikes, and some wrestling. He seems to take punishment better
than dish it out and often gets a beating before taking a match back to
win, it is here that the spirit his teacher spoke of seems to come in. He
lets out his kiai "RYAAAA" and usually that spells the end of his opponent.
He wears his hair not quite in the traditional samurai style, but rather
has let it grow a bit longer than shoulder length and then puts it up in
the traditional pigtail on top of his head. He comes to the ring in his
Kimono and Hakana. His Kimono is blue with black dots and he often ties it
off at the elbows in the popular style of feudal Japan. His Hakana is a
dark brown almost black and is gathered tightly above the ankle also in the
popular style of feudal Japan. He carries his Daisho with him to the ring
as his soul can never be far, he will NEVER unsheath them as he feels it
would be disgraceful to do so and not use them. However, one promoter
almost talked him into doing a Kendo stick match, Mifune smiled and said it
would be no challenge.
It's rumored that there may be more students of the way of the warrior
with interest in coming into wrestling, however one things for sure, none
of them will ever be quite like Mifune!
choku tsuki - straight punch
harai goshi - sweeping hip throw
hittsui geri - knee strike
mawashi tsuki - roundhouse punch
shuto uchi - knife edge
empi uchi - elbow strike
kata juji jime - half cross choke
ouchi gari - inner reaping throw
okuri eri jime - sliding collar choke
Bushi Makenki - literally warrior spirit, Mifune lets out his kiai of "RYAAAA" and performs a blinding combination attack with a double spear hand to his opponents chest followed by a a backhand blow to the face with the right hand and a knife hand to the side of the neck, resutling in almost paralyzing pain for the opponent.
