I pick 4th out of 12. This is my BIG TIME family league. Let's assume LJ, LT, and Steven Jackson go 1,2,3 as expected...
I've boiled it down to these guys but I'm open to other opinions.

Depends on your QB scoring if you would take Manning or a RB. The concensus in this spot is taking Frank Gore. So I say go with him. Plus its fun when he goes for a long run or a TD and you can shout out "GORE GORE GORE!!!"
Shaun Alexander could be in this poll as well, but I wouldn't take him that early. Bush isn't worth that high of a pick either.

I'm not sold on Gore. I'm not sure why yet but I'm not.

And if my plans go accordingly...I can get the QB I want in the second or third round...
I'm leaning toward Addai or Bush right now.

Considering the guys you are targeting, I think you could get more value trading down a few spots if you can pull it off and get a better 2nd round spot.

We don't trade down in our league. That would be sweet if we did but to be honest it would F up the total number of players in the end I think.
And no not Jon Kitna although I think he will blow up vs. not showing up this year. Could be the steal of the draft imo this year.

What is your scoring system for RBs and QBs? TD and yardage wise?

I'm a believer in RBs first. Although if there's an exception, it's Peyton.
Being a Rams fan, and knowing our run D, and knowing that we play the Niners twice, I'm gonna say Gore here.
Toss up really, but I'm going Gore.

Tom Brady
they have Randy Moss, Dante Stallworth, White Lightning Wes Welker and Jabar Gaffney (who I think is underrated).
The legitimate run game of Maroney and the amount of time this o will be on the field when the d is as good as is
And Belichick is a fn genius

Please...like you could have possibly said anything else. If Swarm takes anyone other than Manning here, it's proof that he smokes crack. That's all I'm saying. The best quarterback in the league, going into a season loose and confident for the first time ever throwing to a trio of receivers the caliber of Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, and Dallas Clark, and you can get him at #4? C'mon ...

I'd agree with BDS on this one.... Manning shouldn't really even be there at #4... He and LT should be 1 and 2 in most non-keeper leagues.

I say Peyton..if u get him u don't have to worry about the QB position this year...U could get another QB way later for the one week Peyton won't start. (bye week)

I decided I'm taking Rudi Johnson with my pick. 4th in a 12 man draft. He's consistent and he'll get me 1300 and 12 no problem. He has no competition and has a great surrounding class.
You don't win your FF league with your first round pick but you sure as hell can lose it with your first pick.
So I'm taking Rudi Johnson, RB, Cincinnati.
Championship.

way too high to take a QB. even if you miss Peyton you can grab Palmer and still get great QB production. I said Gore but Alexander would be a good pick in my mind too. I agree also that it would be much too early to take Bush given that he is spliting so many carries
