I decided to crown my first Cruiserweight Champion today. To my shock Gila defeated Halcon Oro in the final of an eight man tournament to win the title. He also beat Lycosa and Grunge on the way to the title.

Nobody's posted here for a while, so, post-Countdown to Destruction champs for me:
Heavyweight: Rubicon (defended successfully against Zed Marlowe) Tag Team: The Sons of Royalty (defeated Darwin's Legacy at CtD) Nebula: Brainstorm (defended against Excalibur) Cruiserweight: Pendekar (defended against Stigma) Women's: Desdemona (beat champ Morgana and Willow in a Triple Threat Match, but by pinning Willow -- Morgana wants a rematch!)

Mid-2020 for me here, big upset happened last night that I thought I'd share.
Tag Team Champs: Sons of Royalty Intersteller Champ: Brainstorm Cruiserweight Champ: Scion Nexus
1st round of the Lord of the Ring tournament Brainstorm defended his IS(c) against Yuri while the reigning CPC(c), Czar, got decimated by none other than Romulus.
I was using a 1 through 16 ranked tournament and though Czar being the #1 seed would walk through #16 Romulus. The match was over in 6 moves.....

CPC: Mensar Tag: The Punks I-S: Blizzard Cruiser: Dante Women's: (GWF and CPC women compete for the same title, currently held by GWF competitor MOTHER SUPERIOR, who defeated MORGANA for the belt)
Notes: -- THAYNE won the CPC title from STIGMA in his return last week, only to see MENSAR challenge, and then destroy, him immediately after the win to claim the title. On this week's card, MENSAR defeated EURITAR in EURITAR'S return match. -- DANTE crushed SCION NEXUS to capture the cruiser championship, not allowing SCION a single offensive move in the match. -- THE PUNKS had the tag titles when their new cards arrived; they lost last week to the returning SKY FIRE, but were able to reclaim the titles at this past week's card. -- BLIZZARD continued to stave-off retirement for another week. -- GUNNAR has claimed the Hardcore Title, defeating GRYT in a Cygnus Adamentium Fists Match (the Hardcore Title is fought the same as the Women's title, i.e. it is open to challengers from all divisions).
MENSAR has proven to be beast thus far in our fed, having a strong enough offense (combined with a lights-out finisher) to compliment his dominant defense. His "one mistake" level-3 defense (meaning no clean down-3's, and the only down-3 being on a leave "A", his only "mistake" is to roll the PIN) should make him very tough to beat in the new CPC. DANTE was very impressive with his update, and will face ZED MARLOWE on next week's show. MARLOWE is one of the most successful Cruiser's in the CPC, so this will be a good test for DANTE. As is our rules, BLIZZARD will not be forced to retire until he loses the I-S title, making each of his matches a potential retirement match. The only drawback to this is that no wrestler retires with a victory, but it seems more fair, and more logical, than stripping someone of their belt when the new sets arrive.

Had our weekly card last night (prior to the blizzard):
CPC: Mensar Tag: The Punks I-S: Cypher Cruiser: Zed Marlowe Women's: Shann-Ra (see rules one post up) Hardcore: Gunnar Heavy Metal: Stigma
Notes: -- MENSAR destroyed CRUICIBLE, who was unable to induce a State of Fear at any point in the match. MENSAR has won 3 straight with the HOSTILE TAKEOVER. -- THE PUNKS were hammered by the COSSACK WARRIORS until getting themselves disqualified to retain the belts. A rematch has been signed for next week, as this feud begins to heat up. -- CYPHER has ended the career of former OFC partner BLIZZARD by SUBMISSION with the CYPHER STRETCH after inference from SPLATTER failed to turn the tide. BLIZZARD retires ranked #21 in our all-time rankings (based on length of title reigns), after starting his career in a very PLETHADORIAN way in 2101. -- ZED MARLOWE turned the tide outside the ring, before stunning DANTE with a back-to-back Heir to the Throne, unsucessful pin attempt, into the MARLOWE VICE to claim the Cruierweight title. This belt could be the showcase title in the new CPC, as we have ZED MARLOWE , EURITAR, DANTE, STIGMA, PENDEKAR, BRAINSTORM, CRUCIBLE, THAYNE, T.K., and COMEDY all eligilbe for the division, that's not even counting SCION NEXUS and TALON, who could wrestle occasionally. -- GUNNAR defeated TANCK in a Cygnus Adementum Fists Match to retain the Hardcore Title. -- STIGMA ended the 2.5 month reign of ENDGAME to capture the Heavy Metal Title. STIGMA was able to take the big man down with the LOCKDOWN, and then finished quickly with the STIGMATA to earn the victory.

I don't think I'd use Euritar, Dante, Brainstorm, SN or Talon in the Cruiserweight division though.

They still qualify! I stand by my assertion.

Not only do they qualify as cruiserweights, they make an incredibly fun and exciting division. I see them as being very mid-card WCW in the mid-to-late 90's. By that, I mean this is the area of the fed where you can book a great WRESTLING match every week, and have enough talented workers to keep the matches fresh and entertaining. Why couldn't DANTE and BRAINSTORM's feud include the cruiserweight title, for example? Adding a title only adds fuel to the fire. For guys like CRUICIBLE, EURITAR, ZED MARLOWE and others who are primarily feuding with heavyweights, it can be used as a good escape for side feuds and competitive matches. It even can provide (as mentioned earlier) the occasional singles match for a primarily tag team wrestler.
Not only do I agree that the CPC cruiser division is the best going right now, I would be remiss if I didn't mention that the CPC Tag Team division is possibly the strongest in the galaxy as well. Six teams, every one of them solid to very good. It is nearly impossible to say who is the top team in the CPC (Punks?, Legacy?, Sons?, Cossacks?), and who is the worst team (Sky Fire?, Dynasty?). The difference between 1 and 6 is very small.
The CPC is ultra competitive and tightly focused right now. Anyone is capable of a win in any match, because there is so little outside interference. Very few matches are ending with something other than a finishing move, which is really refreshing and fun to play.

Very few matches are ending with something other than a finishing move, which is really refreshing and fun to play. This was one of my main ideas in splitting up the teams, or one of my hopes, at any rate. I've got to say it's upped the clean finish count for me, too, although I've still got a DQ every other card or so.

A new week and some new developments:
CPC: Nero CPC Tag: The Punks CPC I-S: Hadrian CPC Cruiser: Zed Marlowe Hardcore: Gunnar Hardcore Tag: Sons of Royalty
Notes: -- Darwin's Legacy took their tag team frustrations out on the singles division this week, taking titles from Mensar and Cypher in the process. In particular Mensar, who had been unstoppable since his return, was beaten after only one offensive move on his part during the match. -- The Punks continue to keep their tag titles by any means necessary, getting disqualified again this week. Prodigy has let these disqualifications go unpunished for now, but how long will it be before The Punks find themselves in the Commissioner's office (in our fed 3 d.q.'s in a row gets a visit to the Commissioner, 4 in a row gets you stripped of your title)? -- Zed Marlowe looked incredibly impressive, dispatching of Talon in under 3 minutes. -- Gunnar continues to impress with the Hardcore Title, defeating Sly Drury in a Castor Chain match. -- Sons of Royalty defeated Cyber Union in a classic Lepus Stun Rod match to capture the Hardcore tag titles. While not a hardcore team on paper, the Sons talent could provide them with the flexibly to be successful in many different styles of matches, perfect for this division.
As Mark said above, The Punks are proving that D.Q.'s still happen in the CPC, but a quick look at the cards since 2121 arrived shows that in 16 title matches only 3 have ended in D.Q. (or count out). That percentage is significantly lower than the GWF in a given month (not counting non-D.Q. titles like the Heavy Metal and Hardcore), and is something (Josh will attest) that I have been decrying for years (too much outside interference).

2121 is in the bag and the year end awards and rankings have been announced:
CPC (c): Euritar IS (c): Hanuman Cruiserweight (c): Pendekar Women's (c): Rhiannon 1. Shylock 2. Zed Marlowe 3. Hanuman 4. Dante 5. Mensar
Euritar dominated the year as no one even came close to his record or unseating him as champion. Mensar started the year strong until Shylock came along and unseated him. Euritar then took the title from Shylock and never looked back through the rest of the year. Zed Marlowe dominated the IS (c) scene for most of the year with some great matches with Euritar and Dante. Hanuman came on strong late in the year to capture the IS title, but we shall see if he has staying power.
Tag Team (c): Sky Fire 1. Sons of Royalty 2. Cossack Warriors 3. The Punks 4. Darwin's Legacy 5. Dynasty
The top 3 teams on this list are all very close contenders for tag team of the year as not a single tag team could hold onto the title for more than one defense for the whole year. Every single team on the list held the title at least once during the year except for Dynasty who fell flat on their face. It was predicted that Darwin's Legacy would dominate the year as they were the only team to have a manager and they had won tag team of the year for the previous two years running, but they continuously stalled out during the year never able to string more than two wins in a row.
Year End Awards Most Improved: Dante What can be said he came out of successfull tag team and became a successfull singles star. He shot up the rankings and quickly grabbed the IS (c) and had a great series with both Zed Marlowe and Euritar over the title. Comedy didn't exactly fall on his face either as he came in a close 2nd for this award, but fell just short of capturing the IS (c) himself and made it to the finals of the Lord of the Ring tournament.
Lord of the Ring Award: Brainstorm Brainstorm has made it to the finals of the LotR tournament several times never to win the prize, but this year that all changed and he joined the elite who can claim the prize.
C Cup Champions: The Punks The Punks went on a tear during the tournament and are still the only team to win the C Cup on multiple occasions.
Rookie of the Year: Euritar It's hard to give the Rookie of the Year award to a veteran of CotG, but Euritar is "technically" a rookie in the CPC and it was no doubt that he was going to win this award when his only competition was Crucible.
Manager of the Year: Franco Jesterelli In a year where managers had a limited amount of talent to get over Franco was a stand out above the rest. His active involvement in Comedy's matches showed the potential and danger the duo made. Gila came in a close second with his work with Hanuman, but Comedy came out as the biggest surprise of the year.
Tag Team of the Year: Cossack Warriors In a year with so many evenly match teams its very hard to pick, but the Cossack Warriors edged out Sky Fire and the Sons of Royalty as they seemed to be involved in more big time matches through the year as Sky Fire and the Sons seem to go on bad beats here and there the Warriors seemed to always be either the challenger or the champioins in the matches.
Wrestler of the Year: Euritar It was a no brainer this year. No wrestler in the history of the CPC has ever dominated the competition like Euritar. And he even took half a year getting into contention. Next year he starts at the top and will probably be involved in all the big matches giving him an even bigger legacy.

update 2121.....
CPC - Shylock Universal - Brainstorm TV - Zed Marlowe OFC - Rubicon CPC Tag - Darwins Legacy
notes on fed...... Shylock beat Cypher in a steel cage on my last card and is ready for Euritar or Mensar soon. Brainstorm has been strong as my universal champion he has a match with Stigma over the end end. Zed Marlowe is great and has been a super TV champ, rubicon is looking unbeatable as the OFC champ, it's gonna take a monster effort to take that belt off of him. Darwins legacy has dominated everyone but the Punks are up next and they have been HOT. Overall my CPC is awesome,
tkx again, the dice don't lie!
