The issue of game charts is one of the 'areas open for improvement' with-in CotG Online as we head into 2008. Not only would it be nice to see more 'official charts' added into the mix...but also welcome would be expanded options so that players can readily incorporate their own charts into the game table and modify aspects of a given chart (such as the impact of a roll consequence) in the PBP Sim. Addressing those issues and moving Online closer to the way people actually play the game with cards and dice (where alternative options are as wide as a persons creativity) is what will help take CotG Online to the next level. This is all part of getting back to the spirit of 'it's up to you Promoter' as a guiding principle. In the mean time here is a quick method in how to use outside charts (such as the Tag Chart) in the Game Table section of CotG Online. It's not ideal...it takes time...but it does work: 1. Log in using Internet Explorer (this won't work in Firefox)
2. Copy the text of a given game chart (such as the Tag Double Team Chart) into word pad and leave it open while at the game table
3. When something happens which would trigger the moment that you would use the chart...move 'down' so the wrestler cards are not visible and then roll the dice (hit 1 or 2 as appropriate)
4. After the roll make note of the outcome of the dice roll and then copy/paste the corresponding result into the message part of the Chat Log
5. After pushing 'send' the result will now be incorporated into the body of the PBP logA process that could digitize official and unofficial charts into a format that would allow players to forgo all of these steps as the system reads/then applies the roll outcomes would do wonders for both time efficiency and game play options...and it's definitely not too much to expect given the pricing of the service.

If we see custom charts for COTGonline any time in the near future, it would likely be for the Game Table only. The PBP Sim just isn't coded with such a thing in mind. I could have written the PBP Sim in such a fashion that it just parsed out the tables and knew what to do with them rather than hard-coding their functionality into the code as it is now. If I'd have done that, then custom charts in the Sim wouldn't be a problem at all, but I'm also not sure that the PBP Sim would be functioning at this point.
