As each set of the GWF is released (& the CPC down the road) will those of us who have already purchased the card format already have to pay again to receive access to those cards in CotGOnline?

I believe that is the case as well (but who the hell am i)? HOWEVER, I do believe it'll you'll buy them in sets, like 2119-2122 all together.

Somehow that just doesn't seem quite right for someone who already has all the sets.

Just FYI, y'all aren't getting ignored on this one. You just happened to ask a question that I don't have any pertinent info or opinion on, since I'm not the business guy, and Osk is in the Fortress of Solitude until after Father's Day.

Suggestion: $29 (or whatever) for the stat tracker and/or game table (maybe some discount if you buy both or something) to buy as a PROGRAM. Then keep charging the $12 per set in EITHER card or online format (maybe something like $15 or so for both). I think you'd be surprised how many people would buy both! That way, people like me aren't being (or at least feeling like) we're being forced into buying stuff we'll never use (I don't now or ever plan on playing aCe). I love the GWF and would love to buy the Stat tracker, but I like my cardstock and I can't get over feeling like I'm throwing $ away for the aCe stuff I'll never use. (I know, I know, just pretend that part's free, so it's no big deal, right?)

This is the question that might decide me about buying COTGonline or not. I mean clearly it's a very nifty thing to have but I don't want to have to pay for cards I already have so I can use them online.

I cannot stress enough that it's worth the cost. And technically, you only have to buy the digital cards if you want the new sets and/or if you want to use the game table when it's released. The stat tracker will support rankings and card management just fine (though not as efficently without the offical cards)

It really has nothing to do with "worth the cost" or not. I already have every aCe, CPC & GWF edition in paper format. The way I see it, if I have to reinvest another $600 in digital cards just to use the game table, it actually might NOT be worth it aside from picking up the new aCe & CPC sets when they release. That is the point of my question. I already bought into the program so I can see what the Game Table does on release and have been troubleshooting the program right along with everyone else so I know it's worth & usefulness at this point.

I'll try my best to answer this for Kris. For those that have bought the card sets in the past, you will have to purchase the digital card sets as well since it is a new product. By buying the sets online, you will get them in color and will be able to use them on the gametable and in the Stat Tracker, and have full GWF Files bio information, so there is some value added features. The sets would be made available in bundles (i.e. War Games package for 2091-2093) and would be priced below the card stock sets, due to the lack of printing costs.
There will be some pricing breaks for existing customers, which Kris and I are working out. May be on the subscription costs, as the logistics of discounts on certain sets is not looking feasible.

So you're saying I will have to buy all my cards again in digital form to use them for CotG Online? That would effectively raise the price from $29 to $73!

That is exactly what they are saying. You will have to re-purchase every single card in the game if you want to play with it in the software

So you're saying I will have to buy all my cards again in digital form to use them for CotG Online? That would effectively raise the price from $29 to $73! They are saying that there will be a cost for the different sets to be made available online, but I'm sure it won't be that much...Keep in mind, the $29 covered 3 aCe sets, including LE and SEs... which would have cost $40+ if you bought them on paper, not counting the cards from before the actual aCe sets that are included, and the Stat Tracker... what I THINK BDS was saying earlier is that your going to get 6 months, but that he didn't think said 6 months would start until the game table is out. Using that as a model, my guess would be a 'New Beginning Package" would likely include all the stuff that was in the Collectors Pack, 2119-2122 (4 sets) all the SE and LEs, for a similar cost. I can't imagine the subscription for the Game Table and the Stat Tracker will be all that much...as I said on an earlier thread.. all the costs are fixed, so the more subscribers, the better.

That is exactly what they are saying. You will have to re-purchase every single card in the game if you want to play with it in the software Incedently, you can use the Stat Tracker by itself (I know at least on person in the DWA is using it for their stuff), there's just a couple minor things that it doesn't do (like tracking guys though different identites) that it would with the 'official' guys.

Oh so it comes with everything I'd need to play aCe? Now that is indeed a horse of a different colour. I'd have to rethink this methinks.

Yes, the Launch Package comes with everything you'd need to play aCe (although only the new cards in 2121 are in the printable PDF). In addition, you can track the stats of ANY set, whether you've got the official cards in the Stat Tracker or not. Like Wildfire mentioned, there are a lot of people using it for LOW or GWF right now, even though we haven't used the cards. You lose a little functionality, but it still keeps the records and generates stats for you.
