There was resounding disapproval for the first General Rankor coloring, so, I talked to Jeff Corbett the colorist and he took another crack at the project. I'm happy with the results. Most things are noticable, but let me just point a few out: -Syndicate Headquarters in the background has been really cleaned up. -The dark green skin has been lightened in the face allowing for more visible detail. -The glowing yellow Ravager style eye remains to keep with race continuity. -The old gold and red combo was too "Iron Man" and has been reworked. I think the new colors give him a much more evil vibe...which I like. -One of the cooler aspects of the original coloring was the red pentagram on the breast plate. That remains, but now has a ominous glow. Check it out! ~ :-Xsk |

That looks a batrillion times better. This looks great. Cool background and good choice of colors. Strong.

This looks incredible. I'm glad you kept the pentagram the same, it really jumps off of the breast plate.

Not that I know who Rankor is (recently returned to the game, not playing aCe) but I really like the new one better! More ominious colors, better match, all in all a great job! The reason I felt I should post is, I think that shows great flexibility and service for someone to listen to the opinions of the players and be willing to say, "ok, not our best, give us another crack at it." Not that it applies to me with Rankor, but I like that message for when it comes time to shell out my money for games that do apply to me.

JC's lighting effects are just awesome, and the addition of that glow across other parts of Rankor is my favorite part of it. I'm also glad the purple lips are gone.

Wow. I liked it before, but this one is worlds better. Everything just works together better, from the background to his face to the armor. Much less stark, but more "real". I love it. I've sorta been in the middle in my overall feelings about Rankor, but this art rendering actually makes me like him more.

Unfortunately, I can't help you, at least not for a while. I've got to get approval from Osk before I can release any part of any art, and he's sitting in an airport somewhere getting ready to leave for vacation, so he won't be back until next weekend. Rest assured that Lance is awesome, though, and we are getting a BOARD FAVORITE for next week's Spotlight.  |
