With the GWF cutting back to a 37 card universe, does this mean that the CPC will have a bigger roster than the GWF? And if so, will it make enough of an impact to propel it to the number one wrestling group in the galaxy?

Could it? Perhaps. However, I think the reality is that most people will still prefer the GWF(besides, it's not the size of the federation, but the interest in it)

Yeah it's not the size that counts...many a women are giggling at that one...anyway, storyline is what it is all about and to be honest...Mark has Tom beat the last couple of editions. I mean several twists and turns that always keep ya guessing on the outcome...sorry Tom...good job Mark and I can't wait until 2119 at GalactiCon.

You know what I would like to see - 37 guys in the CPC, I want the CPC to be an equal alternative to the GWF.
I have a feeling the titans maybe coming over

For this year at least, the CPC will have slightly bigger roster than the GWF -- 41 to 37. But there are more people leaving the active roster this year than there are coming in, and the same may be true in 2120. But just like they say in all those opinion polls, "differences of 5% or less are not meaningful." Same applies here, if you catch my drift. The feds are two distinct entities in my mind. I don't know that the CPC is trying to compete to be the #1 fed over the GWF, but instead is trying to instill the ECW mentality in their diehard, but smaller, fan base. The cuts were necessary to maintain some continuity between feds regarding events that are galaxy-wide, namely the economic downturn.
Have no fear, though. The devilish duo in charge always have something sneaky up their sleeves to drum up more business!

As the creator of both feds, I'd like to add a few things. I didn't start releasing CPC editions to "compete" with the GWF. On the level of fiction, the CPC is certainly competing with the GWF, so are thousands of wrestling federations in the galaxy. The GWF is the most popular wrestling federation in the galaxy and has been for decades. The GWF is firmly entrenched in the top spot due to being over 40 years as the top fed, excellent television and pay-per-view deals, a large and loyal fan base, having the best gate attendance and television ratings, and the tendency to draw the best wrestlers in the galaxy, lilke Endgame, to their fed. In terms of reality, Mark and I are trying to do complementary work, not competitive work. I suppose this is the classic difference between a work and a shoot and some people may not be seeing it. If Stone Cold Steve Austin punches Vince McMahon, that's a good storyline and it's good for business. Vince wouldn't have Austin on the payroll if it was actually undermining him. I asked Mark to write CPC editions years ago and he's done it splendidly. My goal wasn't to have Mark compete with the GWF, but to give COTG game writing a new voice. He's adding to the COTG mythos, a collaboration I don't take lightly in any way. Had I wanted to be heavy-handed about the matter, I'd have ordered Mark to cut his roster to 36 or fewer to ensure that the CPC was smaller than the GWF in 2119. Mark told me these kind of cuts would hurt his storylines so I told him not to bother. I hate to cut the creative legs out from under a person. And TommyGunn, I'm glad you're enjoying Mark's work. It's why I hired him to work with me. He's a great writer and he's given the CPC an identity all it's own.

I love both what Tom does and what Mark does but for totally different reasons. Tom gives me my comic book style game. I love that. Mark gives a (usually) more traditional wrestling storyline. I love that too. Also with them working together, I think it improves both feds, as they can collaborate and do things like the crossover feuds we got in 2118.

I LOVE that the GWF is insanely over the top, like Marvel vs DC in a wrestling ring...and I love that the CPC is more of a "wrestling" fed. If they were the same thing then, well, that would just not be as much fun....=)

Both Mark and Tom have had a landmark series of late... what does 2119 hold in store for these feds and their fans?

Hey Tom, I don't know if this is how you see it or not but I going to compare you to my idol and his own unique universe, because I think its the best way to look at this.
I see the cotgverse a lot like Joss Whedon's buffyverse. You have your original GWF or Buffy which is where everything started the introduction to the story. Beginnings of character storylines and the overall story. Then you have the CPC and Angel, a spin off of the original show that doesn't really compete with the other but is an equal part of the other. Characters not able to shine on the other show can here. We have crossovers and stories that affect both parts of the verse. Both shows/feds not really compete with each other but are almost equal parts that you need to catch both parts in order to get the whole story for all the characters.
I like to see the CPC be viewed almost as an equal to though, because like Angel its also sort of an alternative to the original. You have two choices to see which fits you better. It gives you a choice. Personally I kind of like the CPC better. We've seen how the CPC was born and slowly developed, we've seen it grow up from the start. Plus we got Jack of Diamonds the greatest wrestler ever in champions of the galaxy history ... plus the Jester too.
Anyway my point is I look at things like this ... the whole thing is the COTG universe, and the GWF and CPC are equal parts (though I think Tom is a little biased toward GWF, which I would really like to see some biased toward CPC for a year or two ... maybe a special CPC edition when it hits an anniversary and we can really give them the spotlight for once)
ok ill stop now ... lol

Nah, nothing is going to break up the Tom and Mark army. They're buds, and besides, the only thing that could break them up is Yoko Ono, and I haven't heard whether or not she is coming to Galacticon this year. So we shall see. I also really liked the Buffy/Angel comparison - it sums it up to a tee. And as far as people jumping on my numbers theory, my original intention of that statement was that this would be the first time in the game's history that there will be more CPC wrestlers than GWF wrestlers. That is the dynamic I was trying to point out. Not better wrestlers, storylines or writers. Just more numbers on one side than the other. If Commando Sam was still active, this surely would have given a heart attack! Tom, bring back Old Sam so I can watch him flip out over the "threatening" of the CPC, and how it will tear apart the foundations of wrestling. I can't enough of freaky people spazzing out!!!
