This one was a great card! The workers are really geared up for the end of the first month and the presentation of the first champions, I think.
House Show 11
ROAD WARRIORS def. Mongols Hawk pins Volkoff with the Doomsday Device The Mongols looked very strong early, getting several near falls on Animal, until Hawk has seen enough and came in for the save. Adter a shrt brawl the referee restored order, but not before Animal has enough of a breather to get to the corner and make the tag to Hawk. It was the LOD’s turn to dominate, as they unleashed their high impact double team offense onto Killer Kowalski. It looked like it was over after a Doomsday Device, but Volkoff came in for the save, touching off another brawl! This time the Mongols came out on top and went back to work on Animal. Their advantage was short lived, however, and Hawk ended up facing down Volkoff. The big Russian tried to overpower his opponent, but Hawk was too strong for him, reversing the backbreaker drop into a devastating vertical suplex. The doomsday Device ended it after another great match!
BRAZIL def. Dibiase Coco Butt Best match so far!! The two really wailed on each other (7 counters each!!) The match went back and forth early on, until Dibiase was able to shrug off a Coco Butt and gain the upper hand. The Million Dollar Man used a nice combination of submission holds and high impact moves to really wear down his opponent, but Brazil would not give up. When he finally got back on the offense, Bobo when for a high risk leg drop off the top rope and missed, and Dibiase quickly took advantage. It looked like it was lights out for Brazil, but he just managed to get is foot on the ropes to escape the Million Dollar Dream. Dibiase thought he had tapped, and turned to the crowd onl to be hammered by Brazil. Bobo used a series of punches to set up another Coco Butt, this time getting the victory!
J.VALENTINE def. Baba Atomic Skullcrusher Not quite a squash, but Valentine really dominated in a fairly quick match.
GOTCH def. G.Valentine by Disqualification Great Match! Things when back and forth in the early going, with Gotch trying to work on the arms and Valentine the legs. The Hammer actually locked in the figure four at one point, but a heroic effort got Gotch to the ropes. Gotch has taken the upper hand when Valentine slid out of the ring. Gotch followed and was blind sided by Buddy Rogers! The Nature Boy was looking for some insurance on capturing the January title, but the referee saw him and called for the bell. Both men were pretty upset at the result, but Rogers seems fairly happy at creating a DQ win for Gotch, rather than a clean one.
GEORGE/ROSE def. Snuka/Sheik by disqualification quick match… the action tumbled outside early on and Snuka was quikly disqualified when the referee admonished him to get back inside and he leveled him with a spinning heel kick. The Iron Sheik was furious with his partner after the match and stormed back to the locker room.
BUNDY def. Race Bear Hug King Kong Bundy clearly did not want to finish the month without a victory, and this one was his best chance, facing the onl man he came close to beating. Bundy was like a man among boys throughout the match, never giving Race a chance to fight. Harley was remarkably resilient though, kicking out of the Avalanche twice, before the toll on his ribs caught up with him as Bundy squeezed the life out of him.

House Show 12 The final House show of the month is in the books...
ROGERS/SNUKA def. Gotch/G. Valentine Valentine submits to the Figure Four. This first ever non rated match was an exciting one. Gotch dominated the nature boy at several points in the match, but was unable to pins him. Rogers and Snuka were the far more cohesive team, and their tagging in and out helped as the match progressed. The turning point of the match was Superfly savings Rogers from the Gotch Toe Hold. Valentine came in and had locked in the figure four. But Rogers expertly turned it and forced the submission.
BOCKWINKEL def. Dibiase back suplex Good match! Dibiase seemed poised to get the big win he needed to be respected as a title threat, and had several near falls, but Bockwinkel was left unimpressed with the rival sleeper hold. Bockwinkel instead focused on the other moves in his arsenal, and planted Dibiase with a piledriver before the back suplex into a nice bridge for the victory.
HAWK def. Volkoff Knee to gut quick match! Volkoff was looking for revenge after getting pinned in the wild tag match last card, and he came out and pounded Hawk to the ground. He then went to the top rope, looking for a flying body press, but Hawk got his knee up at just the right time and rolled him up for the win.
BASTIEN/DESTROYER def. Valiants Johnny submits to the Destroyer Huge upset! Despite locker room rumors that they would not be teaming any more after this match, Red Bastien came out on fire, pummeling Johnny Valiant and getting a near fal before tagging his partner in. Jimmy Valiant made it in to break up the boston crab, but Bastien stopped him when the Destroyer locked in the figure four to get the win!
BAKER def. Sandman Heart Punch Baker keeps up him momentum in a total squash. An axe handle off the 2nd rope and the Heart Punch was all it took to put the Sanman to sleep.
BRAZIL def. Bundy Coco Butt Incredible comeback by Bobo… Bundy hit him with the Avalanche twice in a row, and he somehow kicked out! Bundy was in a daze for the rest of the match, wondering what else he could do to score a win against Bobo! Brazil slowly built his momentum with a series of punches and a nice clothesline, then finished him off with the Coco Butt.
BABA def. Iron Sheik neckbreaker drop These guys just wailed on each other, with almost no thought to defense or counter moves. Sheik has the upper hand early, but Baba kept the match inside the ring and finally out slugged his opponent, getting enough of an advantage to land the neckbreaker drop for the win.
Here's the lineup for WWM.. after the card.. the participants for the Gauntlet will be set... the 5th and final spot is very much up for grabs!
World Wrestling Masters Televised from the Providence Civic Center

Here's the last TV show for January...
World Wrestling Masters Televised from the Providence Civic Center
Two of Three falls BRAZIL def. Dibiase 1st Fall: Dibiase is Disqualified. Brazil was totally in control, getting several near falls. Dibiase attempted to lure Brazil outside and turn things around, but the referee warned him not to use the post… then disqualified him when he slammed Brazil into the ring steps. 2nd Fall: The tactic did have the desired effect, as the million dollar man took total control. Brazil fought the sleeper tooth and nail, and managed to escape time and again. Dibiase’s frustration boiled over and he again went outside. This time, Bobo was ready for him and it was Dibiase who tasted steel. He was unable to get back in and Brazil got the Countout win!
VALIANTS def. George/Rose Jimmy Valiant pins Rose with two Super Elbows Good match. The two rivals felt each other out early on, with neither team holding on to the advantage for long. The turning point was when Johnny Valiant got a foot on the rope after Rose hit Bombs Away. While the referee was getting Rose to let him up. Jimmy passed Johnny brass knuckles, leveling rose and setting up hit partner’s Super Elbow for the win.
ROGERS def. G.Valentine Jumping knee smash Valentine came out strong, but his emotion could not take him through to a victory. Rogers rode out his offense as he has so often and then went to work, getting the pin even before he needed the grapevine.
BOCKWINKEL def. Gotch Bockwinkel Sleeper A near perfect performance by Bockwinkel. He came out like a man possessed, quickly taking Gotch to the mat, then switching to submission holds to wear him down before capping the match with the Sleeper.
MONGOLS def. Road Warriors Volkoff pins Hawk with the Backbreaker Drop The LOD were obviously over confident, and the Mongols took advantage. Kowalski quickly gained the upper hand on Hawk and knocked Animal to the floor before tagging in Volkoff with a double flapjack, then finished him off with the backbreaker drop.
J.VALENTINE def. Race Atomic Skullcrusher Solid back and forth match.
January wraps up with the Gauntlet! The top five singles guys who will participate are: Buddy Rogers, Frank Gotch, Nick Bockwinkel, Bobo Brazil, Johnny Valentine. Its likely the survivor will claim the championship for the month. THe Road Warriors and Valiants will also face off in a Texas Death match, with the winner taking the Tag Championship.

There was definately plenty of controversy in this last card of the month.. the commissioner came out and rules that none of the matches would be no-DQ, and asked the competitors to give the fans a good clean card.. that was certainly not meant to be...
The Gauntlet WWC’s first pay-per-view event, from the Boston Garden
JOHNNY VALENTINE def. Bobo Brazil Atomic Skullcrusher Great Match. Brazil was in total control early on, but Valentine kept just barelt escaping the pin (Valentine had 6 counters). As the match wore on it was clear Brazil was out of tricks, and Valentine was able to turn the momentum to his favor. He softened Brazil up with the abdominal stretch, and a 2nd Atomic Skullcrusher got him the victory.
NICK BOCKWINKEL def. Johnny Valentine Bockwinkel Sleeper Total Squash…. Valentine had nothing left after his war with Brazil last match, and Bockwinkel’s aggression took advantage.
NICK BOCKWINKEL def. Frank Gotch by Disqualfication This was a good match until the the action spilled outside. Bockwinkel got a chair from ringside, but Gotch kicked him in the gut before he could use it. The wily Bockwinkel dropped the chair on his head, and the referee saw it at just the right time and called for the bell! Gotch was furious and attacked Bockwinkel again, until security had to separate them.
VALIANTS def. Road Warriors by Disqualification The match got out of control from the get go, with action both inside the ring and out. The referee called for the bell when the LOD delivered a double clothesline to Johnny Valiant then didn’t leave the wring, pummeling Valiant until the referee had to call for the bell.
BUDDY ROGERS def. Bockwinkel piledriver The Nature Boy finishes his impressive month with an equally impressive win over Bockwinkel. Nick can out strong, but didn’t have enough gas in the tank after two other matches and couldn’t finish his opponent.
Rankings
1. Buddy Rogers (10-2..1668.463) 2. Nick Bockwinkel (10-5..1591.153) +1 3. Frank Gotch (8-4..1581.011) –1 4. Bobo Brazil (8-5..1515.846) -1 5. Johnny Valentine (7-6..1491.848) +2 6. King Kong Bundy (1-6..1422.027) 12. Sandman (1-7..1396.946)
1. Road Warriors (7-5..1538.262) 2. Valiants (8-5..1535.769) 3. Mongols (5-5..1516.205) 4. George/Rose (5-5..1476.664) +1 5. Iron Sheik/Snuka (3-5..1471.268) –1 6. Red Bastien/Destroyer (3-6..1455.823)
The Valiants were not at all happy the the referee stopped their match with the Road Warriors, and nearly walked out on WWC when they found out they did not win the Tag Title for January! You can be sure they'll start February with a vengeance. Nick Bockwinkel has managed to make another enemy... will his continuing enstrangement from his fellow wrestlers affect his proformance?
After a brief hiatus, February will start up with some shuffling of Tag Team and singles competitors:
Iron Sheik and Superfly Snuka have dissolved their partnership, and will wrestle singles in February. The Sheik claims Snuka caused most of their losses, and is eager to prove it. These two will be sure to be at each others in the weeks ahead.
Red Bastein and the Destroyer decided that they just weren't a good team, and will also leave the tag competition. The Destroyer has formed a new partnership with Giant Baba.
The new team replacing Sheik and Snuka will be the Million Dollar Team, with Dibiase hiring King Kong Bundy to squash his tag team opponents.

House Show 13
GOTCH def. Bockwinkel (Rolling Knee Bar): Great match! It went back and forth early, with neither rival getting much of an advantage for the first few minutes. Gotch finally got the upper hand after hitting the Iowa Backdrop, then kept Bockwinkel writhing in pain on the mat for the rest of the match. Nick fought hard, but had to tap at last (6 Tokens)
SLAUGHTER def. G.Valentine (Cobra Clutch): Impressive Debut for Sarge! Total Squash!
VALIANTS def. Million Dollar Team (Super Elbow on Bundy): Spectacular display of teamwork by the Valiants… Dibiase and Bundy worked over Johnny on a couple of occasions, but he kept escaping and letting Johnny take control.
SANTEL def. Race (Double Wristlock): Ad Santel makes an impressive debut, out wrestling the much bigger Race at every turn, and even surviving a piledriver on his way to the victory.
SNUKA def. Steamboat (Superfly Leap): Superfly’s aerial attack kept Steamboat off his feet and on the defensive throughout the match.. not much of a debut.
HARDCORE LEGENDS def. Bastien/Destroyer by DQ: Sandman nailed Destroyer with his cane, but the referee only saw the retaliation by the Destroyer with a chair
BAKER def. Kowalski by DQ: Wild Match! Both men tried to overpower each other, with neither having any success. Kowalski used brass knuckles in the brawl outside the ring and got caught for the DQ.

House Show 14 Definately and eventful card!
ROAD WARRIORS Def. Valiants (Doomsday Device): Quick victory for the LOD, but at a high price. The Valiants were playing possum, and as soon as the match ended they attacked with crow bars… Animal was knocked out of the ring while the Valiants worked over Hawk’s knee.. until security was able to restore order (Hawk injured 10 cards)
JENKINS def. Rogers by DQ: Rogers tried to use the ropes for a pin, but was caught by the referee. The Nature Boy argued, then lost his temper and shoved the official, causing the DQ and a big upset win for a bewildered Tom Jenkins.
BRAZIL def. J.Valentine (Coco Butt): Dominant win by Brazil, he was just too strong for Valentine.
STEAMBOAT def. Baba (Top Rope Body Press): It took some time, but Steamboat finally wore down the big guy with some great mat wrestling and was able to finish for the win.
GEORGE/ROSE def. Enemies of the State (Cross Body Block on Volkoff): Sheik and Volkoff were in total control, when Sgt. Slaughter’s music hit. He didn’t actually come down to the ring, but the distraction allowed Gorgeous George recover and hit a cross body block.
RACE def. G.Valentine (Piledriver): The Hammer was in control, but when for a flying elbow drop. Race rolled out of the way, then planted Valentine with his trademark piledriver for the win.
SNUKA def. Sgt. Slaughter by DQ: Iron Sheik came out during the match, and nailed his former partner with his loaded boot, then hit Sarge for good measure!

Its all about the Old school guys on this card...
House Show 15 GOTCH def. Rogers (Gotch Toe Hold): Old school is king of late as Frank Gotch sent a clear message to the champ with a dominant victory. He wrestled circles around the Nature Boy before finally locking in his toe hold for the win (6 tokens for Rogers!)
GIANT BABA def. Bockwinkel (Neckbreaker Drop): Quick win for Baba, Bockwinkel couldn’t believe he got pinned as the crowd went wild!
ROAD WARRIORS def. Hardcore Legends by DQ (Cane shot on Animal): Hawk came out with a huge brace on his knee, unable to bend his leg. Animal was abused by thhe Butcher and Sandman, but Hawk was able to dive into the ring for the save at just the right time. Sandman finally got caught with his cane to cause the DQ.
JENKINS def. J. Valentine (Full Nelson Cradle): Great Match! Valentine was in control for the majority of the match, and it seems Jenkins was nearly out cold at one point, after 4 straight Atomic Skullcrushers. Jenkins somehow kicked out, however, and after a series of chops caught Valentine in a Full Nelson Cradle for the big victory.
ENEMIES OF THE STATE def Bastien/Destroyer (Boston Crab on Destroyer): Very quick match.. Sheik and Volkoff were focused and never let Bastien get in the match.
SANTEL def. Baker (Double Wristlock): Despite the massive Size disadvantage, Santel got OX off his feet, and never let him back up.
KOWALSKI def. Brazil (Claw): Brazil control the tempo early in the match, but Killer fought off Bobo’s best offense, then took the action outside, where his long reach got him control. Once the action got back in the ring, Kowalski locked in his claw, and Brazil just couldn’t make it to the ropes.
MILLION DOLLAR TEAM def. George/Rose by DQ: Sheri Dupree sprayed Bundy with perfume, causing the DQ. After the match, Dibiase was seen going to Dupree’s locker room, and left very happy with himself.

This month's first edition of World Wrestling Masters is in the books... feature the first ever non-rated Grudge match!
World Wrestling Masters, from Syracuse University
Texas Death Grudge Match ENEMIES OF THE STATE def. Sgt. Slaughter/Snuka(Backbreaker Drop on Snuka): Good team work by Sheik and Volkoff (and a strategic loaded boot) got the job done. Sarge came in to make the save, but was cut off. After a short brawl, Slaughter and Snuka had control of the ring. Sarge was not happy he lost the match though, and shoved Snuka out of the ring before heading to the back.
BRAZIL def. Bockwinkel (Coco Butt): A dominant win for Brazil, he manhandled Bockwinkel and won easily.
Rogers Vs. Santel – No Contest The match spilled outside, and when the Nature Boy slammed Santel into the post, he went crazy! The referee had no choice but to call for the bell as the two combatants brawled into the stands!
ROAD WARRIORS def. George/Rose by DQ: Quick match.. The Million Dollar Man came down to ringside and whispered something to Sheri Dupree, and she jumped up on the apron and sprayed Animal with perfume right in front of the referee, causing the DQ… Incidently, the LOD still haven’t pinned George and Rose….
KOWALSKI def. Steamboat (Claw Hold): Kowalski took advantage of the opportunity to appear on Masters with an impressive win over the newcomer Steamboat. This was a great match, with Steamboat attempting to keep Kowalski at a distance, while Killer tried to close in for the claw… the claw won out in the end after an epic battle.
GOTCH def. Jenkins (Gotch Toehold) : some early back and forth action, but Gotch quickly asserted control and got the victory
Rankings:
1. Buddy Rogers (10-4-1) 2. Frank Gotch (11-4) +1 3. Bobo Brazil (10-6) +1 4. Nick Bockwinkel (10-8) –2 5. Ad Santel (2-0-1) NR 6. Killer Kowalski (3-1) NR 7. Sgt. Slaughter (1-1) NR 8. Greg Valentine (5-8) –8
The Nature Boy and Frank Gotch are miles ahead of the rest of the pack. The new additions were very impressive on the whole.
1. Road Warriors (10-5) 2. Valiants (9-6) 3. Enemies of the State (1-1) NR 4. George/Rose (6-7) 5. Million Dollar Team (1-1) NR 6. Hardcore Legends (1-1) NR 7. Red Bastien/Destroyer (3-8)
Hawk is attempting to fight through his serious knee injury, and so far luck has been with the roadies, with two DQ wins since the attack. Time will tell if the injury allows the other teams to have a chance of overtaking them before Hawk is back to 100%.

Here's a couple more House shows...some interesting results. Things are really building nicely and forcing me to make hard decisions on what fed to play House Show 16 ROGERS def. Santel (Figure Four Grapevine): Santel was impressive in defeat, taking everything the champ had and more (7 tokens) and even escaping the Figure four once before the Nature Boy locked it in for good, and Santel passed out. Rogers seemed impressed with his challenger, and broke the hold cleanly once the bell rang.\\\ BASTIEN/DESTROYER def. Hardcore Legends (Figure Four on Abdullah) : Total clash of styles between these two teams… the mat wrestling won out this time despite the forks and canes. BAKER def. Kowalski (Knee drop to head): Fairly quick match…Kowalski was stunned early with a big boot, and never really recovered. Kowalski was not happy after the match, and went after Baker with Brass Knuckles, but Security was able to break things up. J.VALENTINE def. Race (Pin with Ropes): Both men fought with an air of desperation, need a win. Race looked to finally have things turned around when Valentine JUST kicked out of the piledriver. While Race argued with the referee, Valentine delivered a low blow, then pinned him with his feet on the ropes to steal a victory. VALIANTS def. Million Dollar Team (Double Clothesline): Dibiase set the pace early, bit when the Valiants cut Bundy off, the quickly wore him down and knocked him off his feet to get the victory. STEAMBOAT def. G. Valentine (Top Rope Body Press): Slow start to this one, with neither man doing much, until the action went outside and Valentine got the upperhand after a back body drop. He ran out of steam as the match continued, and the dragon was able to sneak out the win. BRAZIL def. Giant Baba (Hammer punch) : Brazil dominated the match, and really impressed the fans after delivering a vertical suplex on the Giant!. Baba was reeling throughout the match, and never really had much of a chance. House Show 17 SNUKA def. Sgt. Slaughter (Piledriver): Great Match! Lots of action outside the ring. Both men took a beating, but Superfly was able to surprise Sarge with his power and get the victory, but this rivalry is far from over. ROAD WARRIORS def. Enemies of the State (Power Slam): Animal carried the load, and got beat down early. After getting to the ropes to break the Camel Clutch, Animal took over and tagged the injured Hawk to set up the Doomsday Device. Hawk pulled off the move, but couldn’t get over to make the cover. Luckily for the LOD, Hawk got back to the corner and Animal was able to finish for the win. GEORGE/ROSE def. Hardcore Legends by DQ: Sandman blasted George with a cane to cause the DQ. Cherie Dupree did not appear at ringside.. George seems to be looking towards the locker room throughout the match. GOTCH def. Bockwinkel by DQ: Gotch one again had the upper hand on his rival, when Bockwinkel bailed out of the ring. Gotch followed, but Bockwinkel has the trap set, and shoved a lit cigar in his face! The referee quickly called for the bell. SANTEL Def. Baba (STF): Another shocker for Santel! Baba was in control early, but attempted a high risk move from the 2nd rope, and missed. Santel took advantage , as he was able to get Baba to the mat with a Judo throw, then lock in the STF for the win. JENKINS def. G. Valentine (Double Leg pick up and slam): The Hammer was manhandling Jenkins and seemed to have the upper hand until he went for the figure four. Jenkins popped back up and delivered a vicious slam on the shocked Valentine to get the win. BAKER def. J.Valentine (Heart Punch) : Baker is on a roll! Impressively dominant win.
