I had my Ultimate bad guy stable and they ruled for a few years. Spike was the HW, Mayhem was the I-G, Bounty Hunter was the TV and the Gladiators (Brute and Massacre) were the Tag champs with RBG as the manager and at 1 time they held all the belts at 1 time.

I did a very similar exercise when I had a week off last year. I picked 8 stables of 1 tag team, 1 heavyweight, 1 cruiser, 1 hardcore and 1 womens along planetary lines (I think it was Omicron, Aethra, Earth, Andromeda, Titan, Centra, Planet Pelf and Brymstone) and played a "Galactic Cup" made up of best of 5 knockout matches. That sounds cool. You should do it again but on the boards. Maybe have people try to help you set up the planet/teams ala titan, cetus, brymstone, ect. Then maybe others can help run the tournament b/c I would assume it would get very large.
