I'm a big Banks fan... so I'd love to see his take on some of the classic guys!
I think Carter was hit and miss.. some of his guys are really good (Especially the villians) but some are pretty horrible (Beast Rider and Renegade) I always got the impression that he ran out of time and had to rush the last couple guys.

Now I am not going to start saying one artist is better than another or anything like that, especially not say ANY artist is crappy (considering I personally have a hard time drawing a straight line in a stick figure), but I will say I like the way Chuck did the originals....I would also like to see how Darryl would "see" the originals. Hmm...I sure took a stand there, didn't I? Crappy compared to other artists (in my opinion)...he's awesome compared to me...I can't draw to save my life. Werner seems to have a somewhat similar 'style' to Carter...but Werner is 10 times better. Heck, let's get Werner to redo the art...just the Carter years even. That'd be great to see. Somebody get on that right now! I'd rather see him re-do the Bendis years. I agree some of Carter's could be hit or miss, but towards the end, you could see a real difference in Carter's original stuff and his last stuff. Banks scared me a bit with his New Beginning Tanck and Mensar, but his last bit of stuff has really been redeeming.

Banks' Thantos could potentially be the best art COTG's ever seen, IMO. EDIT: If he ever did one. There was a little ambiguity there.

Damn, my bad -- I read it wrong. at first I thought it was a sarcastic comment about that Thantos manager card (which I thought to be Bendis?)...... Given that The Living Legend Thantos hasn't gotten his due with good artwork since the original Chuck version (Larry Snelly's was average).....I'd LOVE to see Banks take a shot at it. Or, of course, Werner.

Yeah, Thantos was one of Snelly's rare misses.

Carter's Thantos was probably his best piece.

I liked Kevin Knipe's Thantos the best though!

I liked Kevin Knipe's Thantos the best though! Carter's Thantos is one of the greatest, most iconic pieces of the entire saga, imo. Knipe's Thantos just looked to me, I don't know, kind of flabby. Especially if it was meant to capture Thantos in his prime, I don't think it hit the mark.

Well I'm doing it. I'm doing my versions...however, before anyone gets worried..also understand....almost every wrestler is different in some way. Not just moves and the like but actual changes. This is my GWF Alternative 2087 idea where Star Warrior was the one attacked by Sin. Many changes go from there. I still need to tweak several guys and finish a few I've never done (like Terak)

Hmmmmm... Interesting thought, as I remembered going through the sets thinking how cool the drawings were...until I got to Beast Rider. I still think Carter was the best "official" artist though, but it all depends on what you're looking for. Some people like comic-style drawings, some people like detailed drawings. To each their own. Werner needs to be doing an official set though. This is a cool concept as I'm currently playing EC and am almost not looking forward to reaching the "golden" era because of the lack of unique card mechanics like we have with NB & EC, so I might even be tempted to use the revamped stats.

Any updates Knapik. I used the ones done so far and the matches went a bit smoother. Space Croppers that you did actually fared pretty well with their changes. I believe they lost like they should of but put up a better fight.
