Is it me or does Vidtek come off as a babyface in the 2122 booklet? He helped U.S. Male and threatened Daimyo if he didn't back off of Kill Prey.
Sure the rankings have him listed as a villian but still...it's probably more or less who he's against (Payback for now) that makes him unpopular.
Anyone agree?

I agree with that as well....and to an extent, I feel similar about the Troubleshooters....they seem more like villains based on who they face. Other than being cocky, there's not a lot 'villainous' about them.
Same with Vidtek -- he's kind of cocky, but isn't overtly bad by any means.

Well he's technically listed as an unpopular independant fueding with a more popular independant team. He didn't really help US Male, all he said was that while he doesn't like US Male, he thought that American Guy gave him a real cheap shot. Also, Daimyo is a popular independant (according to the handbook) and Killprey is an unpopular independant. With that being said, it makes sense that Vidtek is also unpopular. Because of his thug like drawing, I don't see him becoming a face anytime soon. He almost looks like his name should be changed to Vidtek Shakur.

I'm looking at Vidtek as a possible Chris Jericho heel. Cool, Cocky, Disrespectful...but those characteristics are what draws people into not wanting to boo him EVER...AGAIN!

In the end, Vidtek's level 3 defense did come into play and he fell to EXVENGE, but with one or two breaks he easily could've won. As far as the original topic, the US Male situation did read a little out of character, but this guy is a brash, smug, trash-talking wrestler. He was just calling a cheap shot a cheap shot, I think. And besides, Vidtek had no love for Guy from previous editions, so why start showing any now? Vidtek may not be a villain set on conquering the galaxy or assassinating a leader or something, but he's definitely no hero. |

Vidtek and Payback just had there first one-on-one in a Hydra Lumberjack match (with the 'shooters and DWF at ringside) and Vidtek, in a 5-star match, won with BIG TIME after a slow start.
I'm impressed.
