This may be a stupid question, but I want to make sure that I am using this correctly. Aegis LE card says the following:
The Advanced BattleGear that Aegis wears blocks all excessive damage that might be suffered by an opponent's special abilities. Use the weakest version of all Special Moves and Finishers vs. Aegis that would normally have an added effect.
What does this pertain to? Does it affect Add -1's? Does it mean that finishers that are roll or whatever are automatically a 1? How does everybody use this rule?

It affects finishers of a varying power. Examples are much easier here:
* Noxious hits Aegis with Outbreak, which is a roll finisher against most people, but an Add 1 move against Aegis. it becomes an Add 1 move against Aegis.
* Gheist's Spectral Slash is a +1 finisher against Humanoids. But not against Aegis because of the BattleGear.
* In a cross-dimension battle against Bloodline, Bloodline hits a +6 COSMIC BIG BANG on Aegis, but you would treat it as a +2 because of the BattleGear.
Basically any move that has varying levels of power are automatically at their lowest effectiveness against Aegis because of the BattleGear.
