The Writing - Far and away, this has been the best written set of the Silver Era, in my opinion. There's wonderful characterization in the set and some excellent dialogue. Kudos to Tom!
The Art - Was done by Darryl Banks and colored by Jeff Corbett. Any of my proclamations of awesomeness would be kind of redundant.
Wolf - I played 2087 through 2097 on my first run through the GWF, and I never liked Wolf. He didn't do anything for me except lose to Thantos. So, I wasn't too excited when I found out about him coming back. But when I saw the card stats and read the story, though, I got excited for it ... well executed card, well executed story, and having Wolf back makes me feel 12 again. Even if all he ends up doing is losing to Monolith.
Daimyo - Kill Prey's going to eat him for breakfast. The story is great, though, and I can't wait to hopefully see the real deal next year.
US Male - I never liked US Male, either. This guy, though, I can get with. Good, solid card, great art, and he's on Endgame's side (more on that later).
Strafe - She's a female Gladiator. I suppose she fills a void, but I'm honestly kind of ambivalent about her.
Sly Drury - Yeah. Definitely yeah. Sly deserved this upgrade, and he's going to be a bad man in the GWF for a long time to come.
The Betrayer - I'm not sure if this is an upgrade or not, because I really liked his card before, but I might be the only one. His real upgrade came in the story, though, where he really got some personality.
Havoc - A well deserved upgrade, even if he doesn't have Vengeance's brain. Disaster's gonna crush him, though.
Retribution - I love this guy. He's my favorite new character from the set. Great story, a nice, low-end card, which I like, and he's on Endgame's side. That's a big thing for me.
Malkuth - This is a great upgrade. The Jungle Warriors are going to be a force in the tag team ranks for a long time to come. They are really, really good.
Vidtek - He's Vidtek. Another nice, lower-end card, but he's in way over his head against Payback. Although I could argue that his whole team is in way over their heads against Divided We Fall.
Mono-monolith - Still Monolith and slightly scarier, but I'm one of the ones that really preferred the old art.
Endgame's Crusade - The birth of this storyline is my favorite development from this set. The possibilities that it opens up for the coming years with the blurring of heel and face are really cool. And the best part about it is that Endgame's right - he's clearly right - and anyone that doesn't agree with him is going down. Bring me my Endgame vs. Monolith feud!
2122 ROCKS!
Now I just need to get caught up ...
