Fine, but "the next Goldust" wasn't exactly the direction I ever envisioned the Betrayer going in. (Not that I'm complaining--I think it's great.) HEY!!!! Thanks for a great idea in how to play Betrayer in my fed. (That is when I finally catch up ). Peace I didn't think for a second he's gay....I think that line fit perfectly with the smartass biting sarcasm the guy was displaying, and he said that to rile up American Guy. And it worked brilliantly. I just picture The Betrayer being increasingly off-kilter and a little nuts. The gun thing....the things he said.... Like I said, and I'll be sure to post a BDS-esque review of my own tonight (assuming my cards arrive and I have my first event or two), The Betrayer is my tenative favorite of the new set. His stats don't necessarily look better (he was underappreciated in his skills before), but the look and team involvement are all huge pluses.

I'm just wondering whats going on with the Titans? They have been just pushed aside for two sets now. Why hasn't the Betrayer/Tristan thing been built upon? There's a major feud there somewhere but its just kinda been left for dead on the roadside.

There's a major feud there somewhere but its just kinda been left for dead on the roadside. I kind of feel like each group will get their turn. Vin Strutter got a lot of attention in previous sets, but was an afterthought this time. Ditto for the Titans, like you said. I think, rightly, Tom focused on the few key storylines this time, and everyone will get their due. The Troubleshooters sort of lingered around for a bit and now have a new manager, partner and high-profile feud. Big Things was near the bottom and now both guys got a little higher profile (Gryt probably more so in the next set) I'm guessing the Titans will get their spotlight exposure soon, maybe a new teammate....maybe an update for Tristan. Maybe a manager again? I could actually see Reckless disappearing and Tristan getting a new, more Titan-esque partner.

I actually wouldn't be surprised to see the Greatest Show just kind of go away, now that you mention it. With his #1 attraction gone, and a host of characters that wouldn't really be missed or could easily slide somewhere else, it seems like they'd be easy for Tom to cull to keep the roster size down. With Mann gone, there isn't really anyone left in the Show that I'd miss.
Plus, who will they feud with next year? The handbook pretty much says it won't be the AniMen. It just seems like they're ripe for a push out the door to me.

I've always had a soft spot for Tanck, although every time I try to push him, he disappoints....but he's been around a long time now....Tricks maybe would relocate to a different team.....Rotunda, take or leave.....Scimitar probably won't get an upgrade soon (when I saw the art for Daimyo, for a second I thought it was s Scimitar upgrade though)..... The Greatest Show does seem to have lost a lot of momentum. Tom seemed to really push Strutter for awhile there -- I wonder if he'd go away or retool a new team. Maybe Tanck and an upgraded Gryt as a base.

There's just so much other good stuff going on in the GWF right now ... Gladiators vs. Eugenics project is awesome, likewise with the FDF vs. Outlaw Nation. Divided We Fall is an awesome storyline in and of itself, even if they crush the Sultans this year. But the AniMen vs. the Show is just kind of there - it's totally overshadowed by all of the other cool stuff that's going on.
The AniMen, at least, have that momentum you mentioned. Panther Warrior and Malkuth are going to win belts. But as far as the Show goes, Take Tanck and Gryt, put them in a fafirly natural feud with the Titans, and then everyone else can go back to the big top. I wouldn't miss them much at this point.

If Swarm gets bumped up to Superstar next year then the AniMen team will be pretty strong. Heck, maybe even a new Gladiator and then we could eventually have a 'take you back to the old days' Animen (with Wolf) v. Glad feud!

I'd LOVE that Jeff. Seriously, that would be awesome.
Edited to add: For those who have COTG online ( I haven't purchased yet) does Swarm have any "tweaks" leading up to his next card? Something to move him up a bit before the new card comes out?

It'd have to be "eventually" indeed....because I don't see the hatred between the Gladiators and any team involving Havoc going away soon. And I'm hoping Wolf - Monolith has some legs.
The AniMen do seem to have a bright future. Swarm, with the expected upgrade, will be a top guy....that tag team is going to be awesome. I may be the only person who misses Antak too.

Oh you're not the only one who misses Antak. Believe it or not in 2121 he was the spoiler for me. He won the GWF (c) 3 times 2 off endgame and once off Disaster. That was an interesting 3 way feud through the summer of 2121. I equate it to if Antak gets to lvl 3 offense he has a 1 in 4 chance to hit his finisher and it was not uncommon for him to hit it 3 times in a row.
He could never defend the title, but he'd come right back and win it again.

Definition of pathetic -- I got home, looked in the mailbox, and 2122 wasn't there (did get the rest of the mail though). Moped into the house, took the dog out....now just went back to check in case I somehow missed the giant envelope. I promise not to look a third time to see if it magically is there.
Antak beat Disaster for my top title once, after having beaten all the Gladiators en route. He will always be a legend in my fed because of that.

Re: Vin Strutter...I would be sad if he left, if only because he fulfills a much-needed "jerk manager" niche in the mold of Reynard B. Guile and Johnny Rocket before him.
The GWF needs an old-style manager who's just an arrogant bastard who gets under your skin, as opposed to a megalomaniac bent on conquering all he surveys.
That said, the Greatest Show seems to have run its course--having gone from a feud with the Gladiators to having to fill out the roster with Gryt and Scimitar.

I'd like to keep Strutter but I agree that it's probably time to close the Show and for him to find a new act.

I went similar in my GWFZ, with Strutter setting up a monster stable of Cyclopes, DSC and Umagapotamus.....and for that reason Strutter seems to be "clicking" better in that fed than my GWF proper these days.

#2 WHY ARE DIVIDED WE FALL fighting the Troubleshooters??? Honestly two of the top guys are fighting a tag team. Umm, Bloodline and Encubus are exclusively a tag-team in 2121. It says in the handbook that they really won't be fighting in singles matches for awhile. They are arguably the BEST team in GWF history. The Troubleshooters are a great team so it's a good match up.

Payback ... I meant the fact that Bloodline & Encubus are two AWESOME singles wrestlers that are being pushed to the tag titles. No offense to the tag titles, I'm just saying both be feuding with Monolith or Endgame and this is why I was kind of liking the fake spoilers. Endgame and Monolith on the same side and here come Bloodline and Encubus to save the day ...

As far as preparing for 2122 was concerned, the only major plot twist that altered my Perrenial card was the 'Disappearance of Epoch'. At time, the only match I had set up was Endgame vs. Epoch in a Circinus Cell match (because 'Game won by DQ against Epoch in one of my last cards of 2121).
