So is Wolf "upgraded" much? I can't imagine, no matter if he has Animan blood and a Cleansing I'd like to see a bit of a downgrade Wolf with some vicious finisher..that would let him compete with Monolith. After all, Dr. Death beat him!

After all, Dr. Death beat him! Wolf is upgraded from his 2110-2111 card. His agility is bumped up and due to his new finisher mechanic his level 3 offense is REALLY strong. This is due to the fact that he's had some life-changing journeys while he's been gone and is now a more controlled fighter.

At first glance, I didn't notice him being upgraded *that* much. But I didn't really look too hard. 2122 is impressive, I'll give it that. Honestly, I think the most shocking thing in the booklet wasn't the return of Wolf, it was the death of Vengence and just how much of a vicious b@$t@rd the Dark Menace really is.
I'll say 2122 was one of the best written handbooks I've seen in a long time. The personalities of the characters really came to life, which is something the "New Beginning" era has been lacking. IMO everyone finally came to life with this set. It really is the first time I can remember the Handbook outshining the actual cards! Excellent job Tom!
And I've got the feeling Mother Superior is FOS! I'll be the first to say it, her age just doesn't add up! She'd be what? Late teens early twenties in and around lets just say 2090? So in 2122 she'd be around 52? What is it with old ladies in the GWF? Who knows how old Loreli is these days! lol!

I agree, kaz.
This book was far and away the best one yet, which is saying a lot.
A lot of the characters did "come to life" as you put it.
2122 is starting off with a bang! Pun intended.

I noticed last year that character uniqueness really came out, even with guys like Thraxx and Zygon......this year, it was even better. I came away really digging a lot of personas because they were so entertaining -- American Guy, Sly Drury, The Betrayer (like I said, perhaps my favorite of the set).....
The new Wolf is perfect -- I think I got weary of his "Owwww!" headbanger craziness in the past....I think this older, wiser, more galaxy-traveled Wolf is the best way to bring back a legend. You can't always go back home, but Tom's love for Wolf and this new approach make Wolf coming back "work".
It didn't work with Spike in the past. It worked great with Lance At-Las....it just takes the right character and the right approach.

I'm only mid way through 2120 so don't mind being "spoiled". Although admittedly I was going to wait til I got 2122 but just couldn't take anymore. Can't even order until next Tuesday.
The biggest shocker to me is the retirement of Amazing Mann. One of my favorite characters that has been a GWF Champion and all around solid guy. He had some intense matches with Swarm over the GWF Championship.
Can't wait to see why he retires if any reason is given. Hopefully he will be back with an upgrade in a couple game editions.

I highly doubt Amazing Mann will be back...it's hard enough keeping the roster small. Besides he gives a pretty solid reason for leaving.

It doesn't sound like The Amazing Mann is coming back. This is a disappointment to me. Thanks to Havoc, I took my magician stage name from him (The Amazing Yan) Plus, I really like this character. He is my current Galaxian Champion and he always gives me good matches. I may keep him around a little longer.

Yeah seeing Amazing Mann just bow out like that was really disappointing. I was banking on him becoming a huge player eventually.
In fact to close out 2121 I had my 1st ever CPC/GWF cross over card with all the champions at the end of the year face each other with a couple of specialty showcase matches. GWF IP Champ Amazing Mann faced off against CPC's Zed Marlowe in a Superstar of the Future match. Little did I know that was Amazing Mann's last match. Bummer and now I have a vacant title to start 2122.
That I don't mind, I'm a sucker for a good tournament. But man was really coming into his own. His first few years didn't do much, but after he got his LE update he was a multi time cruiser and IP Champ and snagged the GWF (c) once in a quick feud with Endgame and a challenge of submission finishers before he dropped back down and dominated Kill Prey in 2121 for the IP (c). To bad I really thought he was going to be the next Janus for me.

Some more thoughts ...
#1 Amazing Mann to CPC???
#2 WHY ARE DIVIDED WE FALL fighting the Troubleshooters??? Honestly two of the top guys are fighting a tag team. So basically this woman comes in and convinces the Rock and Stone Cold of this era to become a tag team and fight the Dudley Boys and other teams for the last two years while they could be setting records in singles competition!!
#3 Wolf in my fed was always a supporting character because he can't be by himself. I'm putting him back with Chaos in hopes he can at least hold his own with Murdok. I much rather would have seen Thunder or Vengeance back as they are much more impressive characters in my world. I understand why Tom did it and again he is a more liked character in his world and I am fine with this move, I just don't see justification in all this hype with secret and fake spoilers.

I thought about AM going to the CPC. Perhaps as a feud for Comedy.

Yeah, not everyone is into Wolf, but he is the face of Champions of the Galaxy. Our Spiderman if you will. It is a huge deal for him to be coming back. I'm very happy Tom decided to do this. Make sense storyline wise...and also business wise, with the classic GWF set coming out on COTGOnline in the next couple months. Having that link between the past and present is important.

I don't think he's gay...I think he just plays mind games...I kind asked Tom about this and he definitely didn't come out of the closet or anything... Fine, but "the next Goldust" wasn't exactly the direction I ever envisioned the Betrayer going in. (Not that I'm complaining--I think it's great.) HEY!!!! Thanks for a great idea in how to play Betrayer in my fed. (That is when I finally catch up ). Peace
