Gonna keep this short (Edit: FAILED)...Work happenings are going to somewhat restrict my time on the computer...My Midnights counterpart managed to get his dumbass terminated, so I will be working every night until further notice...This is voluntary of course, I'm having a lot of fun with the new management and staff, and the boss asked me for help... Pay-wise, this upcoming work stretch is very important...I've requested and been granted a raise, and minimum wage in Ontario goes up next month...Along with that, the company I work for will be putting IT'S minimum hourly rate to slightly above minimum, with comensurate increases across the board (meaning they aren't checking what each of their thousands of employees are making, they are just increasing everyone's pay)...PLUS, my wage is subject to review next month as well...The fact that I have more experience working in that store than any person alive means I'm quite raise worthy.. What all this means is that i'm going to be working my a$$ off for the next few weeks...I'm going to be rationing my time quite closely so that I can still have a happy social life, and remain cheerful and productive at work...This is not to say that I'm leaving...But I figured those I've talked to about what's going on at work, and my midnight shifts etc. may wish to know why I'm not posting at all...Naturally I don't remember who all I've talked to aboot it, so I figured a narcissistic thread would be appropriate... Anyway, to bring this long post to a close, my posting on both boards has been sporadic at best, and that was with a normal 40 hour work week...Now that I'm working 50% more, I can't guarantee that you'll see me for the next few weeks...Mind you, I'll be close by, just out of touch that's all... Thanks all....I'll seeyas around...

Good luck buddy. Like Long John Silvers, while you're usually full of crap, you will be greatly missed. Here's one for the road.

Heya crew... Just stopping by to tell yas thanks for the responses...My 12+ days has been extended to 17+ days...I just finished day 8 I believe...There's a really small part of me saying "holy crap, someone please let it END..!!!" But most of me is thinking this is kinda cool....I'm enjoying work, and the fact that I outworked our overworked assistant manager speaks volumes (he had to take a couple days off)... And then there's the part that gets to quote Aliens... "17 days?? Hey man I don't want to rain on your parade but we're not gonna last 17 hours!! Those things are gonna come in here just like they did before, and they're gonna come in here "Hudson!" They're gonna come in here and they're gonna get us!!""HUDSON!! This little girl survived longer than that with no weapons and no training." ".....Why don't you put her in charge..!?"Okay, that was fun... So yeah, right now I'm scheduled to work 17 days...but that runs to the end of the schedule, and my replacement hasn't been fully trained yet...So I'm looking at the 28th being my next night off...THat's IF the other person is ready to go...Worst case scenario then, I work until Feb. 3rd... Just updating all the caring people...Thanks again for the responses... I'll be around....

So, my 18 nights in a row have ended nicely, and I've been promoted to Assistant manager... ;D Funny story...Apparently this guy who i got along great with, and had a s**tload of fun working with has been trying to get me fired for the last two weeks....Some of his "charges" against me included: Overstepping my bounds with regards to people's shifts (If I saw that a shift was say, $100.00 short, I would go through their numbers to figure out why, and leave a note for the manager so he knew what happened)... Telling the boss what to do (Common knowledge would dictate that if we don't have what a customer wants, they will go elsewhere, so I suggested an overstock of our highest selling cigarette brands and/or Lottery tickets so that we don't run out)... This is my favorite part, and lemme know when this starts making sense: He considered me a threat to his position and gave my boss an ultimatum 2 weeks ago: Either I get fired, or he leaves...My boss wouldn't fire me because among other things I was making everyone's life easier (even the Assistant Manager's) and working 18 freakin' nights in a row...So, he's afraid that my boss will make me Assistant Manager over him, and he doesn't want that...So what does he do..? He Quits...Thus handing me Assistant Manager on a silver platter...Am I missing something..? So anyway, I'm back on 5 nights a week again, so things can finally settle down for me...All those possible pay increases I mentioned in my opening post didn't take becoming assistant manager into account, so...More raise... So yeah, Splat is good...I'm a big fan of how this month turned out for me...And I'll probably be free to post more...For better or worse... ;D Thanks all...

Dante has been promoted. Just kidding. Talking about cigarettes and lottery tickets got me thinking about Clerks.

Splat do they let you drink all the coffee you want while at work? Hehe....Sorry, I was just happy to be out for a couple days...Funny thing is after bowling last night (which went great by the way) I had to stop in at the store and get my gloves which I left there...And I ended up staying there for a couple hours, telling the staff that was there what had happened because they'd missed it all...I also helped out with a couple minor problems that arose in that time....I felt like a guy who'd been tortured for 3 weeks, and then after I got out, all I wanted to do was go back... ;D But to answer your question, I don't drink coffee...But I probably drink enough Diet Pepsi to compensate (normally I don't even drink that, but it's really cheap right now)...There was this one time though that i tried a Full Throttle Energy drink and decided that 1920 mg of taurine was really bad for me.......... (Sorry Swarm, I figured I'd run with it..... ;D)
