Everyone needs to go out and vote today. It is your duty as American's to do so. Make sure you do a little homework first and make sure that you vote for the candidate that actually stands up for the values that you hold dear to you. Most importantly VOTE.

Did it before work this morning. Our incumbent representative is assured of winning, so I put my representative vote in for a 3rd party. Gotta support the little guy, so that one day maybe a viable 3rd party may exist. I am radically moderate afterall. ;D

Glad to hear that someone else votes votes for third party candidates. I am really tired of people who vote "for the lesser of two evils". If you do a little research, you can find someone who you feel is really qualified for the job. Don't feel that you have to stick with the two main parties. I often get the "that is a wasted vote" comment whenever I mention that I will be voting for a third party candidate. But I am voting for the person who I feel is the best man or woman for the job, so to me it is NOT a wasted vote. |

We have an extremely close race here and I did indeed vote for who I thought was the best for the job. Our current governor is a great man and has done a amazing job with our state in the past four years. |

In and out this morning with no problems.
All eyes are on the Buckeye State today with a bunch of tight races. Strickland vs. Blackwell for Governor, DeWine vs. Brown for the Senate, and Kilroy vs. Pryce for State Rep. Ohio has been dominated in the state government by Republicans for most of my life, but a rash of scandals and the performance of one of the least popular governors in the country has left several seats wide open, even with incumbents having had a stranglehold for a number of terms. Very good chance that at least the Governor's seat will go to the Dems.

I feel bad for DeWine. He's done a really good job for the state and I feel like he's unfairly taking a lot of heat for Voinovich's recent bouts of idiocy.

And, fairly or not, Bob Taft's and Tom Noe's. Problem for Mike is he's getting it from both sides--there's the general wave of anti-incumbency sentiment (at least there is here in Collegetown) and many on the right see him as being too moderate for their tastes. His own party is being accused of throwing in the towel on his seat and campaign. |

At least the governor's race turned out ok. I can live with either guy in the spot. Though I wish we could get Coleman out of office. I can't stand him and I was really happy to see his potential governor's race go down the tubes when his wife got the DUI last year.

Maryland was actually kind of fun this year, for a change. I went Repub (Ehrlich) on the governor race and Dem (Cardin) on Senate. So much for secret ballot. But I'm an issues voter, not a party guy.
I read lots of political magazines for work, so I'm trying to keep up on everything tonight to know what I'm going to be blabbing about come next week.

Was anyone else left scratching their head on how the news was calling races last night? I mean they were calling stuff with 0% in and even calling races while the other guy was still leading. It's a headache every year.

It's a headache every year. I heard an explanation on PBS that I sort of get for why that is, at least the one about calling races in favor of someone who looks to be behind. They base it on how well the presumed frontrunner does in a couple key precincts, usually ones they're supposed to do well in. If they don't reach a certain percentage of the vote in those precincts, they're toast. Again, I sort of get it. These people are smarter than me, I guess. And I'm a political junkie. |

Oh I'm a political junkie too even though this election really burned me out. It just wonder sometimes why they're so quick to make calls when it's blown up in their faces the last couple of times.
My biggest annoyance last night was CBS, who seem to be the worst, calling states before all of the polls had closed.
