The second nickname is because the Mason-Dixon Line is our northern border.

I grew up less than five miles from the Mason-Dixon Line.

Wait, I just learned that if you try to post twice within 15 seconds, it won't let you.

And don't forget, meaningless posts to increase your post count. This is a good answer.

I lived in Germantown, MD for 3 years when I was a kid. Ever been there Mark? (Figured I'd give you the opportunity to post again)

I agree with Matt, if you can't spell, use the spellcheck option before posting the message. I agree to a point. We should all collectively give PureHatred a lot more crap about his occasional lazily (and perhaps drunkenly) typed posts in which every other word is mispelled. There is no excuse for someone as intelligent as PH to type that poorly!

I grew up less than five miles from the Mason-Dixon Line. Yeah? And where I used to live I could walk to the Antietam Battlefield. So there.

Wait, I just learned that if you try to post twice within 15 seconds, it won't let you. I also learned a while ago that you could also create a post where you quote a blank quote.

Mark, I just remembered where you lived in Maryland and chuckled. When Bethesda kids used to make fun of Frederick by calling it Fredneck, I would always feel obliged to inform them that I lived thirty minutes west of "Fredneck," but you sir still have me beat by a couple of hours.

I'm actually only a little over an hour from where you used to be, Chewey, but you can get another hour or so further out to the tippy-tip. Yes, I've been to Germantown. But only to the fast food places.

We used to drive up to the Francis Scott Key Mall in Fredrick on the weekends (I doubt it's even called that now, if it's still even there). Saw a few Keys games too (single-A leagues IIRC)

ah. I remember when the FSK mall was still better than the Valley Mall or the Hagerstown outlets, and the Golden Mile was actually something special.
Then over-ambitious economic developers tried to build strip malls and outlet stores in every single corner that was remotely close to a highway. Luckily, I was long out of town when many of these stores predictably collapsed.

It's still a crap mall. Is Gee Bee still one of the anchor stores? My sister got caught stealing a cassette tape from there (this was in 1990, mind you) Is the Fun Factory still there?
