Last night was another example of why I think the Heisman should be given out after the Bowl games, and after these kids have played vs. the very best at the end of the year.
Brady Quinn? Troy Smith? Garbage compared to these two.
I vote for Russell...he's a stud and will probably be the first pick in the NFL draft.
PS: Thanks to gametime for catching that I messed up the first poll and that not only is Demarcus Ware not a QB, he isn't even in college anymore. Good looking out man.

I agree with Swarm.
Russell will probably gp #1 to Oakland. But the combine changes everything but the Raiders definitely need to draft a QB #1. This draft is deep in QB's.
But I could see Oakland taking Brian Brohm, too (I think he's declared for the draft but I could be mistaken).

I don't think you can judge the best player in college football by one game..even if it is a bowl game against a big time opponent.
I hate OSU...but if I'm being honest with myself..I have to admit Troy Smith was one of the most outstanding players all year and probably deserved the heisman trophy.
But if we are gonna hand out a real Heisman trophy based on Bowl game results and also take the regular season into consideration, I say give it to Colt Brennan. Nobody had a better game then him. He set the single season TD record and finished the season with over 5,000 yards...he should of been invited to New York. Further proof the award isn't necessarily given to the best player in college football but the most exciting and most hyped player on one of the top teams.
You can say Colt is a product of the seystem and you may be right. But scouts have said that he is extremely accurate and should be a good pro QB.

I went Russell, the guy is enormous for a qb. He reminds me a lot of Mcnair, put him on the Raiders and if (a big if) his line can protect him he'll be pretty decent with weapons like Porter and Moss. I think a lot will depend on who they hire as head coach.
