Allllrighty, things are a bit more civil at home soooo: Next Random Battle!
Tough one this time! The here are two combatants with a very similar history and skill set:
Doctor Doom is the epitome of the Comic Villian Pantheon. Ruthless, intelligent, self- important, confident in himself and his cause, he makes all but the truest tremble. Master of technology, schemes and manipulation, and gypsy witchcraft.
Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith, is often seen as THE baddest bad guy out there. Expert swordsman, Master of the Force, responsible for the execution of hundreds of Jedi warriors, most of them personally. Skilled pilot, engineer, and tactician.
Battle conditions: Old, abandoned castle, which contains normal castle- type items (tables, chairs, suits of armor, tapestries, etc) It was wired with some technology (mainly lighting), so there are cables and wire running through out the castle. The castle is in good repair. Neither combatant has any prior knowledge of the castle. Both fighters have been transported to the location without time to make preparations; so the fighters will have the items they normally would have on their person (Vader would have lightsaber, comlink and maybe a few other items/ Doom would have several blasters hidden on his person, a few charms and totems). No outside help may be called (including Doombots and Stormtroopers or apprecntices).
A victory in this situation would be a knockout for one minute.
Okay, given the condition of the battle, who would win?

Unless its the "powers Cosmic" Doom, i give it to Vader hands down. This would be a quick one.

Victor Von Doom...never under estimate the power of the dark side of the force...Vader wins in less than a minute with a force combo of choke and wedgey...

I don't know, fellas, I just feel that Doom will pull this one off.
I think that some of his talismans or his sorcery may disrupt or even counter the Force, long enough for him to get away and rethink his strategy.
I think that , whie he may lose a hand or so in the process, but Doom would be able to incapacitate Vader for the one minute victory, most probably to get away!

I think that some of his talismans or his sorcery may disrupt or even counter the Force, long enough for him to get away and rethink his strategy. Honest question: has Doom ever successfully held off Magneto? Because I equate Vader with Magnus pretty closely, and minus the lightsaber I think the two are pretty equal. If Doom can take Magneto under these same circumstances, then he has a shot against Vader. However, the biggest strike against Doom in this scenario is that he has no time to prepare. Doom's a chessmaster, and needs time to plan. He doesn't have that here, and unless he happens to have the right stuff on him at the time, he'll get trounced by Vader, who needs no preparation other than "point me at a target and I shall do they bidding, my master".

Yeah, you guys have convinced me. With just being teleported to a random site, Vader is probably too overwhelming.
Doom, if he had time to plan, would have put up a much better fight. But alas, as I set the rules and scenario, Doom must concede defeat.

Darth Vader is the greatest villian in the history of TV, Movie, and life itself. He is the Chaos of the silver screen. Vader>everyone else Vader's great...for a whiny lapdog manipulated into betraying everyone that ever cared for him. If Vader is Chaos, then Doom is Thantos...and while Chaos trumps Thantos on sheer power, Thantos trumps Chaos on everything else. Doom doesn't get manipulated. His mix of tech and magic wins out in the end...after all, anyone that's read the only REMOTELY official account of the Jedi purge knows that Vader's reputation was 90% hype.
