I'm enjoying making my way from the past with my GWF Fed. However, with a baby on the way and new cool stuff coming out all the time I'm considering putting my old school fed on hold. I love doing it but I'm loading up playing it all the time that I don't have a chance to enjoy the new stuff everyone is talking about.
I already had New Beginnings and played 2119 through early 2122. I never posted any of these results.
If I stopped rushing my old school fed I could do the new stuff and possibly a couple of others, GWFZ, POW, or LOW.
Should I continue my oldschool fed (Option 1) or should I post my New Beginnings results and and keep up with current happenings (If I do this, the option is still there to go back and complete my fed history) and start a fed or two in other areas (Option 2). This poll will stay up for 24 hours. At that time, whichever wins WILL be my choice. If that is choice 2 I will post another poll at that time to determine what other feds I should start.

As much as I love nostalgia, I say go current and do more. The past will always be there.

Personally I enjoy taking breaks between my GWF and GWFZ fed...kind of the same thing. I love your fed...it would be cool to see what you can do with the current roster(s).

Sounds like your real desire is to move in a fresh new direction.

Yeah, put the old school on hold. That's what I did. It'll always be there when you have extra time.

You should play some of the new stuff, especially since that is what it sounds like you would rather do anyway.
Being current, or close to current, is always fun.

I am in the same boat your are in (minus the baby on the way, already got 2). I am playing New Beginnings now and i will switch back to my Early Classics fed to take a break.

I had the same question when I restarted my fed with Early Classics back in early 2005- whether to start with New Beginnings and go back when possible to play the older stuff or to build up the history first. It was a tough call, but I decided to build up the history and since I'm now in mid 2115 I expect to get caught up and become current sometime later this year. But while that decision worked for me personally (History- which I have 2 degrees in- is important to me), that doesn't mean it will necessarily work for you.
Do you have a set number of cards you play each game year? If so, you could play out the current stuff (including POW and aCe if you want) and then eventually go back and then do some of the older stuff while you're waiting for the next current editions to get released.
For me, LOW is my personal favorite game and I used to play it in real time with an edition of RAW and Smackdown (the 2 brands in my LOW fed) once every week. But time for me as for most others is limited and I've lately only been playing LOW sporadically as I'm focusing on first getting caught up in COTG- but once I'm caught up I plan to go back and play mostly LOW from that point on. So I definitely understand your dilemma.
I voted the second option because I agree with others it sort of seems like the direction you want to go. But you have an awesome old school GWF fed and I'll read your fed results for whatever direction you choose.

I dig your fed, but I'd catch up then go back to the old school

Thanks to everyone who has voted. I will shortly start posting my New Beginnings results as I played from 2119 - March 2122 without posting.
I will post another post as to what I should start playing next.
