Some people have left the game for good and some people left and came back
Have you ever thought of stop playing COTG?
I never did but I have cut back my playing as I don't have as much time to play like I use to

I wll hold up my hands (It wasn't me officer honestly) . No seriously I have thought about packing the lot in . I have got so far behind and don't really play enough of all my federations . Or just have books and tins of wrestlers everywhere . What is the point ? . Does anyone care what happens in my feds ? etc . But you always return and carry on . You watched Raw or Smackdown and think I can beat that . What the hell ? and the dices keep rolling on . The drugs hit the vital organ , your heart and I'll die with my dices rolling (and probably boots on as well) .

I quit for a decade but always thought about it and knew I wanted and would come back.

I never really thought about quitting but did get so behind right before the move to Centra that I wondered how I'd catch up. Then Tom made the move with the league and I said, "Perfect! They took a four-month hiatus to figure out what to do! Now I'm instantly caught up!" The longest "break" I had was for about a month during late high school. Blamed it on a strike. Thank you, Chad Olson, because he'll no doubt jump in and claim I stole his idea.

Quitting is certainly not the right word, but I've taken a few extended breaks and come back. Even when I wasn't actively playing the game, it was always on my mind.

I've taken breaks before, sometimes as long as months....but I always come back....and I've been on an extended interest streak, especially since New Beginning.
Part of my problem at one time is that I over-did the production of it.....I made these elaborate printouts with Photoshop and put them into a binder. The actual time to make them became a drag and I didn't play as much.
A year or so ago, I went back to a straight-up notebook with pens and pencils....and I'm more hooked than ever.

My longest break was first semester of freshman year of college, in which I didn't play for 2 months. It coincided with the 1994 baseball strike, so I like Mark, wrote it in as a wrestler strike. I don't get to play as much as I used to, but still play quite alot. Thankfully the fed size is smaller, so I can play out more cards per game year than I would have before. I can't imagine ever quitting on my GWF fed.

I've taken long breaks, but I can't ever remember thinking, "I'm never going to play this again."

No. I've played since 1991. The hard part is getting motivated to play. I can go through a years worth of cards in two or three weeks, then not play for a year. I just love getting the new sets and reading and looking at the cards.

I'll go through a whole year in a few weeks then won't touvh them for a month. I still haven't used the cards from 2111-2118. I've bought almost every set at least once, even if I never have used them (Like CPC up until the last 2 sets). Sometimes I'll decide to play and just read a few of the booklets instead. Rahl

I quit once, and for quite some time.
My dad bought me my first set in 1992, and I played nonstop from 92 through 98. In game years I played 2087 through 2096.
Anyhow, I came home from school on spring afternoon (I was in the 10th grade) and went to my room which was in the basement....and found that a burst pipe had flooded my room. My COTG stuff was in two boxes, and one of them was on a low shelf in my room...that's the box that had all my old cards (guys who had retired/left/etc) all my game charts....and all my results. They were totally ruined, and to be honest I was devestated.
I'd be embarrassed to reveal this to non COTG fans, because I don't think they'd understand, but having all that history destroyed really got to me. I could have gone on by memory sure, but I knew it just wouldn't be the same. So I put my remaining GWF stuff aside and went on with life.
Over the next few years I thought about the game, and busted it out now and again. My dad played every now and then (and he still does) and he and I would have cards sometimes just for fun. But at the end of the day, it just didn't feel the same.
In 2004 I got married, and while moving my things to my new house I found the old, taped up shoebox that housed my game. I took out the guys I still had and played a card....and I felt like it was time to try again.
I repurchased the 2087 set (the boxed set) and bought the cards I needed to have everyone up to 2096. And I started playing again, and found myself loving the game more than ever. Christmas of 2005 my mother bought me the New Beginnings set for Christmas, and now I'm more hooked than ever!
So yes, I went away for a long time, but I honestly don't see that happening again. I now run two feds (I'm in 2088 and 2119...almost 2120 now!) and when COTG Online hits I'm going to get into the CPC and ACE too. I'm diving in all the way baby!

I actually quit back in high school, threw everything away (up through Revolutions 2098) that was an expensive day! It's been since then that I just barely (2 weeks ago) rebought up through the War Games and I'm antsy to get caught all the way up till the most recent release.
