If I havent ordered any GWF stuff and I have LOW sets and I was interested in the ACE sets, do I need to buy any COTG stuff in order to understand the ACE or could I go straight into ACE having never tried the original stuff. I hope this makes some sense. What kind of fed is ACE ? Is it more modern than futuristic , more brutal ? I just want to know because it seems the most exciting out of bunch. Please leave your thoughts and feedback and please compare your experiances with the others compared to ACE. I am interested to see what people think of ACE before I buy. Thanks, Larry

Actually, I think you're better off starting with the GWF. aCe is cool, no doubt, but still....yea, GWF.

aCe is great, but I would agree that you should start with the GWF... you won't appreciate aCe as much with out it...
that being said, there is an aCe starter set, so you COULD get aCe only if you are so inclined.

I'm going to disagree with everyone and say that you can jump right into aCe without any problem. I picked up the aCe, and I've never seen any set in between 2096 and New Beginnings. You can pick up on the motivations and personalities of the characters in the book without necessarily knowing all of their GWF history, and I've always found it to be easy for me to start as a set because there's no fed "history" that I'm skipping. So I say go for it. I'm an unashamed aCe honk, though, so I'm sure everyone expected me to say that.

BDS is not at all biased either!

I will agree that, unlike the CPC, aCe is a fed that you can jump into without the benefit of the GWF (mainly because the CPC has no option whereby you can get all the cards you need in one package), but personally I would try out GWF New Beginnings first. aCe has a lot of special rules to cards that might be cumbersome if you're just interested in straight match play and want to work your way into more complex stuff later. The stories, though? They're kick-ace.

I recommend the GWF from 2087 or EC. Start from scratch and build your fed from start to finish... keep your records! =)

I say Storm the aCe and play play play. I agree with BDS that you can indeed start the aCe without knowing the past histories. Although I can see the point the others are making about starting the GWF, but that's because the GWF has a rich history in itself, and it would be a shame to miss out on knowing that history. It may indeed make your aCe fed stronger knowing the detailed history. Shameful Tom Plug: "It's Up To You Promoter!!!!" btw, McKinney, LOVE YOUR NEW BANNER! Very nicely done!!!

i'm also new to aCe, as I just rediscovered COTG recently. i just ordered COTGonline, and am interested in starting an aCe fed, since I now own 2119-2121. i'm just curious as to how different gameplay is (if at all) from GWF. keep in mind, i've been out of the loop since roughly 2096, and when I decided to get back into it, I started with 2087.

These are pretty quick sum-ups of the two feds: GWF - www.cotgonline.com/?page_id=24aCe - www.cotgonline.com/?page_id=8~ :-Xsk
