Joe Doerksen I think is a very underrated fighter. He's overmatched here but he always comes prepared and is very game

I am having a few guys over to watch this. Really looking forward to it. Should be some good fights.
Side note, I am taking my first Muay Thai kickboxing class on Tuesday. Looking forward to that even more than this event. Hopefully I can afford to continue training at this school because I think I will really like it.

My training is on hold right now as I can't afford it, and it's killing me.

I thought Larson should have won his fight with Condit but he just left his arm there to be grabbed. Filho got a good win though.

I was impressed with Varner...a solid ground game, Filho seems to have improved his stand up and should be a beast of a MW Champion...his crossover to UFC is probably inevitable although the division is already stacked. Condit is tough...a good defense by the Champ. A fun show!

I think that slam in the Varner match was close enough to be considered spiking the head- I am surprised the ref did not stop it there.
Good card, though- I was pulling for Doekrsen, but fliho was overwhelming.
I am surprised that Larson made such a mistake. basic arm bar defnse (or defense against pins or jointlocks or chokes) is that go move towardsthe opponent, not away- he simply helped Condit apply the hold.

yeah Larson clearly did the one thing you aren't supposed to do. too many guys who think they can just power out of that type of move just make it worse but I guess some guys will never learn.

I think Frank Mir did an awesome job commentating last night. I really like it when a guy who has been in there is able to talk about what the fighters are doing, what one could do from there and what the other needs to do to escape.. He was also good at calling when a fight was over.
His interviews.... he looked a bit uncomfortable asking questions.

yeah I noticed that too. both guys sort of stumbled over their words a bit last nite but I still think they are a great pair. I hope Mir hasn't give up on his fighting career though because he has so much talent.
