I was shocked to find out that Phil Ensminger died last year.

Phil Ensminger, RIP

MMA fighter Phil Ensminger was found dead in a car in Temecula, California. He was probably best known for being one of the stars of the MMA documentary Rites of Passage, in which we travelled to Brazil to compete in an NHB tournament.

My thoughts are prayers are with his fmaily and loved ones.

Rites of passage and some of his IFC fights always gave me a chuckle. This guy has alot more underground fights under his belt then sherdog or any fighter database mentions. He had alot of personal problems.

Pah! I rewatched IFC XII because I remembered two big things about it. One Phil Ensminger name is mispelled and misaid during the terrible commentary(can bearly hear it). They were calling him Phil Ben Simnger. The second thing was after the fight it looked like John Lobber or someone who looks like him stormed the cage after the fight attacking Steve Heath! Then all kinds of people jumped in... before you know it Chuck Liddell is in there two and nothing is really explained. Cesar Gracie vs Team Machine had something of a feud I guess. It was one of the more entertaining fights on the card.
