the buyer seems very likely to be a crook (check his/her feedback) and that the price was not really higher than the going rate...

It is never indicated that he is the seller, nor that he is doing anything other than holding the box in a picture and POTENTIALLY signing it. |

As far as LWPD's implication that he sells stuff on eBay for charity - "Wouldn't you think it would mention all proceeds go to ...." so he doesn't look like an idiot who would auction off a free PS3. Just learn to read. I was called out for being jealous for not getting one but I got the 360 3 months ago. I'm sure their both fine systems but don't see the need for both. As far as being the fun police - vansabu can think Sylvia is an awesome dude all he wants, it's his opinion. Just as it is my opinion that auctioning off a PS3 does not make him an awesome dude. Since you seem to want to be the opinion police maybe it is you who should try Sherdog. You could be one of the hundreds of posters their who think their opinion is greater because of their high post count. Sherdog is good for a peak once in a while but most of the posters there think they are the Gods of MMA and if you're new to the board, you're stupid. |

Sorry I started this guys. Ah, I know that Tim does alot of charity benefit contributions and maybe he was doing something like that. If its for his pleasure so be it, He is allowed to sell on ebay as much as anyone else. People do have opinions, but its weird that almost everyone hates him. The guy does his job, keeps his title, sells and buys on ebay and all of a sudden he created AIDS. If the news came over the TV that Tim Sylvia cured cancer people would be like " He sucks", " He is a moron" , Jeez give the guy a break. By the way Thanks habbalah for getting my back, nice of you.

Sorry I started this guys. Never apologize for creating threads and initiating topics for discussion. Without them...we would have nothing. Participation is always a positive. Tim Syliva is a successful fighter and deserves respect. He has a record of 23-2 which is truly outstanding. He's beaten just about every heavyweight in the UFC...including back to back victories over former Champion Arlovski. Few in the sport are as credentialed. Most of the hate he receives comes from a combo of having a poor cosmetic non-'ideal athlete' look, engaging in quirky behavior outside the ring and displaying a conservative/defensive MFS fighting strategy that maximizes his height and weight advantage. While it makes perfect tactical strategy for a man his size...the 'Sprawl and Stall' style just isn't visually entertaining to most people. His last two fights..both lackluster 25 minute 5 Round Decisions...saw him roundly booed during his post fight victory promos. He also doesn't help matters by publicly giving fans the middle finger.

No, the statement - "vansabu is a moron" would deride vansabu. This is something I did not say nor believe. vansabu has made many posts and I don't recall ever having derided(word?) him before. On the contrary, everyone (except vansabu, who took the high road) wants to deride me for thinking Sylvia is a tool. If the eBay post had listed that Sylvia was selling it and the proceeds were going to (insert charity) I would not have said anything and may have applauded him. Selling it for charity probably would have increased the eventual sales price. LWPD - All your points were great. He does fight the style he needs to in order to win but he it is so boring. Another thing that leads to the overwhelming anti-Sylvia sentiment, I feel, is his wearing of the belt everywhere. He looks like a complete goober when he shows up for a PPV he is not on and has his belt around his waist. I've heard he also wears in public going other places as well. I've never heard of any MMA or boxing champ doing anything like this. |

Imagine if you will someone wanted to come on to cotg (here) to talk about how great Ken shamrock was. It would burn my butt but this forum is a house of respect and while not large I'm happy to see it's conduct has never been anything to be emberrased by. Might we keep it that way?
Don't you have an American Idol episode some where to go watch? (lol sorry I just wanted to dust that one off one more time). Seriously Tim S. is just being cheap and conservative. In all honesty I'd think he were a bigger tool for buying one of the 1500 ps 3 off of ebay just cause his money is burning a hole.
Tim is having his second shot at the top and I take this as a sign he's not wasting his money on junk he doesn't need. Good for him (as much as some people might want him to die poor, pennyless and 300 pounds over weight).
