The UFC purchased the WFA and the contracts of 30 fighters including heath herring, Lyoto Machido and rampage Jackson.
This is only overshadowed by the late Wednesday signing of CRO COP!!!!

I saw this today and its amazing news. Can't wait to see CroCop vs Sylvia, and a possible Liddell-Rampage rematch. A lot of great possiblities with some of those additions.

Wow. Awesome news. So does that mean no Cro Cop Fedor re-match after Cro Cops winning of the last tournament?

Regarding the WFA the actual UFC press release stated they picked up 'select' fighter contracts, trademarks and other IP (footage being the main asset). I sincerely doubt that means a massive 30 new fighter contracts on the payroll...although I'd love to see Jackson, Miller, Lindland, Lyoto and Bas all rotated into the mix somehow. At this point Cro-Cop _HAS NOT_ signed with the UFC. Regardless of the rumor mill this issue is still very much in the negotiation stage. Mirko has successfully used rhetoric and public negotiation tactics to play competing ends against the middle in the past (most recently with the OWGP) and DSE still has the inside track on re-signing him. Once a deal is 'really' done either way it'll be confirmed in a company press release. Wow. Awesome news. So does that mean no Cro Cop Fedor re-match after Cro Cops winning of the last tournament? Not necessarily. Both CC and Fedor are supposedly 'injured' and will at least miss the New Year's show. The fight is still a strong possibility pending negotiations with both men. I know I'd love to see it.
LWPD (as with pro wres 'journalism'...MMA 'news' is often nonsense....unless an 'official' statement comes out from the company or persons at issue it would be wise to consider the 'scoops' as merely a mix of speculation and hype)

Im with you on that. It was amazing to see two grapplers of that caliber battle it out on the ground. If anyone had ever thought ground fighting was "boring" that match alone would change their minds.
