Who will win and why?
Personally I like Franklin and his training is off the charts, Silva has no idea he is about to die on PPV!!!!!

Franklin will go over Silva, I have followed both guys as much as I have followed most other fighters and Franklin is going to win over Silva!!!

I always pull for Mr. Franklin ( he was a teacher at my high school) Silva is tough but Mr. Franklin will KO him in the 2nd.

Wow. Am I the only one who thinks Silva can pull this off? On the feet it should be a real technical war. Both fighters are cerebral strikes who use angles and couter punches like no other. Both fighters are danerous on the ground as well. As far as I can tell (and according to his own words) Franklin isnt a one-punch-knock out. He picks his opponents apart. Silva on the other hand can end things pretty quick. I think the fight could go either way but I have my money on Silva by TKO in the 2nd Round.

I'm going for Rich, but if Silva pulls of the upset, the MMA world could be stunned. The "Big 3" ( Chuck, Rich and Matt) in UFC have been on top for quite some time, I think if and when someone knocks one of those guys off their pedestal, it could be a huge moment. I'm not sure what to think about calling someone else besides those guys "champion" in their rightful division.

If Silva can get a couple good moments put together (I think late in a round), Silva can win. I put better odds on Franklin winning, though, but a Silva win wouldn't shock the heck out of me. |

Im with Mark on this one. One thing about Franklin is that he is prone to flash knock downs (Tanner 2, the Crow). Though he manages to recover Silva is one of the most deadly finishers at 185. I say its 50/50 on who wins but if Silva stuns him it might be curtains for Franklin. Cant wait for this fight.

Boy was I wrong, I still think silva is a "strap". I cannot seem to think he isnt winning by luck. Dammit Franklin.....Patrick Cote should be next after he steamrolls in UFC 4!!!!

I am no Franklin fan, but I do respect him.
That being said, he looked disheveled from the opening bell, like he was ill or there was something wrong with him.
I am not claiming the result would have been different, but I do not think Franklin was at his best on Saturday.
I also do not know why he stuck to stand up after taking several knees. He could have been able to attempt a sweep of some kind. I know that Silva was no slouch on the ground, but Rich would have been able to recover a little, perhaps, instead of the assault he suffered standing.
As fr Silva, that was impressive: to take apart a guy like Franklin. Wow.
And Hughes thinks he would have a chance.....HA!

That may happen as Hughes said that if Franklin loses he may step up a class.
But Hughes definately needs to work the stand up for that one.

Matt Hughes and George St Pierre are my favs and I think they both can take silva. Damn I cant figure out why I do not like him.
