Heh, based on Karo's skill or the fact you hate Deigo? I wonder if Von flu can humble Riggs, that upset would be huge.

Based on both. I do hate Diego but I have always tried to give him a fair shake when it comes to picking him to win or lose. I never said he does not have talent.
I think Karo is a tough dude. He did survuive three rounds with GSP banging away (Karo lost be dec). I do not think Karo with will slap Diego, it will be competative. I just think Karo will be dominant enough to secured the V.

I think we'll see a real war. Diego is all heart...and very strong on the ground. Can he take Karo down and control him? That's the real question. DS is the best fighter who's ever emerged from The Ultimate Fighter and he has earned my respect...a win here and he crosses the threshold to the upper echelon....but it will definitely not come easy.
LWPD (standing Karo has the advantage...his back is to the wall and this is a 'must win' situation for him....I'm shocked this one is on free TV...a real treat for the fans)

Yeah, I truly would not be surprised to see Diego win.
Angry and displeased, but not totally surprised.

Looks like a great card... there's no way Karo/Diego won't be a war. I'll actually pick Diego via ground and pound, but there's no way it comes easily.

Karo has to win decisively.

You make it sound like the judges will give it to Deigo if it's close. As if ultimate fighters have some kind of advantage. If that were the case Forrest would beat tito.

UFC judging sucks. Sometimes I think they are watching Bloodsport instead of what is in front of them.
They usually side with the more marketable fighter, if it is close. Tito is more marketable than Forrest only because he has been champ before and is a known commodity. He can hang with the big boys. UFC plays two fronts: putting up tough fighter (Franklin, Liddell Hughes, etc), and pushing poster boys from TUF (I do not hate any of the TUF fighters for being on there). They market and give them sometimes easier fights to build credibility, which is no problem. But sometimes they are given fights they just did not earn, simply because they can be marketed to the masses (Bonnar/ Jardine).
This will be a close fight, and really too even to call. This will be TUF posterboy against a largely unkown, but tough, fighter. But I really feel that in order to win by judges decision Karo has to dominate.
If it is close, too close, and goes to Diego (like the Diaz/ Sanchez fight), that is one thing.
I will be honest in calling it.

The Fight Professor Stephen Quadros weighs in on Karo Parisyan versus Diego Sanchez and gives his picks for the rest of the card.
Diego Sanchez vs. Karo Parisyan
Stepehen Quadros: I think Diego Sanchez will have an edge confidence wise going in, but this match with Karo Parisyan is going to be tight. There is no "bad blood" between the two like there was when Sanchez fought Nick Diaz. And speaking of that fight, I am of the opinion that it was one of the best grappling-oriented MMA matches that the UFC has ever seen. But Sanchez/Parisyan has the potential to go even further than Sanchez/Diaz. They are both that good. And neither of these young bucks are ready for pasture just yet. Long story short, I believe Sanchez has the heavier hands, especially on the mat, therefore will win by decision.
Dean Lister vs. Yusi Sasaki
SQ: Dean Lister is one of the slickest grapplers EVER in MMA. But Yuki Sasaki is very experienced. But Lister will take the decision.
Chris Leben vs. Jorge Santiago
SQ: Leben
Josh Koscheck vs. Jonathan Goulet
SQ: Koscheck
Joe Riggs vs. Jason Von Flue
SQ: Riggs
LWPD (SQ goes with all the favorites....with the exception of picking Diego)
"I wanted to fight Karo Parisyan. I've always known my wrestling was better than his, and he ain't gonna take me down with that judo crap, and I can outstrike him. I've been waiting a long time to get a knockout on my record, but I've been playing it smart. I'm not just gonna go in and stand in there with someone if I'm better than them on the ground..."

I would LOVE nothing more than to see a swift seo nage or harai gosh by Karo.
Even better would be the modified tomoe nage/ hammer lock Karo used to be someone (Chris Lyttle?) a few UFC's ago.

See, now I want him on the ground because of some 'judo crap' and tapped out thanks to some more. Karo is really marvelous on the ground. Really smooth. I hope this is just talk from Diego, but it doesn't sound like it

That shot Karo took in round one really took him out of the fight.
Diego's conditioning is impressive, and he did win that fight (although I think Karo did enough to come back and win round one)
I still hate Diego Sanchez

Diego fought hard enough to win last night, I have no doubt. It was pretty even until the third when Karo gassed. He beat a legit contender last night.
I still hate him.

Very good card from top to bottom. Koscheck 2.0 has really stepped up his all around game. Lister is an incredible submission fighter but desperately needs to improve his stand up. Leben seems back on track. Diego Sanchez erased any and all doubts that he is a top tier fighter with smart stand up...totally relentless body shots from the guard...and as always...a highly adept and aggressive ground game. He's for real.
