PRIDE announced four lightweight bouts for Bushido's August 26 card on Monday, each featuring bouts between Japanese and American fighters.
Former Shooto 154-pound champion Tatsuya Kawajiri (Pictures) returns to the ring to face veteran Chris Brennan (Pictures), whose last contest saw him lose by submission in March to Vitor Ribeiro (Pictures).
Undefeated fighters meet when Strikeforce champion Gilbert Melendez (Pictures) makes his PRIDE debut against DEEP lightweight champion Nobuhiro Obiya (Pictures), who also will compete in his first PRIDE contest.
Though Shinya Aoki (Pictures) said he would never take a bout in PRIDE or K-1 because they were more entertainment than sport, the Shooto mainstay makes his Bushido debut in August against American powerhouse Jason Black (Pictures), who has only one loss in 22 bouts and made his PRIDE debut in June, stopping Eoh Won Jin (Pictures) with strikes.
Coming off his stunning upset of TKO champion Mark Hominick (Pictures), Hatsu Hioki (Pictures) steps into Bushido against Jeff Curran (Pictures), winner of his last nine fights.
These four 160-pound contest compliment the quarterfinal round of Bushido's Welterweight (183 pound) Grand Prix.
Dan Henderson (Pictures), the division's champion, faces Kazuo Misaki (Pictures). Ryo Chonan (Pictures) takes on dangerous Brazilian Paulo Filho (Pictures). Frances Gegard Mousasi (Pictures) challenges Akihiro Gono (Pictures). And Canada's Denis Kang (Pictures) takes on Armenian striker Amar Suloev (Pictures).
--------------------------------- This is starting to look good.

Now I've spoken to some of the posters at wrestling 411, (I use to write there and and long last we got our own mma section)....
Am I really that nuts thinking Amar Suloev is going to hand Denis kang his *censor*. I just think brings more to the table as a fighter than Kang does. I also feel Filho isn't going to just blow right through Ryo. Call it a hunch.

Amar is the man. Those red devil guys are a force in MMA. Filho better blow through Ryo...
How about Kawajiri and Brennan? That could be really interesting. Let alone Gilbert Melendez's debute in the big time

Well I'm chearing for Ryo.. cause he'll be a gimmie win for Dan later (LOL) and team quest champions are hard to come by these days. I'm a Kawajiri fan so I'm going to pull for him. He seemed proud and boastful against Gomi. Sort like a frank Trigg. I don't know what it is.. he feels like a heal some how, and I like that.
