What if Chuck LOSES to Babalu?
Does that mean Liddel/ Silva does not happen?
Does that mean it will be Babalu/ Silva?
Does that mean a quick step in for Ortiz/ Silva?
Things to ponder....
Hell, personally, I'd still want to see Chuck and Wanderlei pound the crap out of each other.

They could push it back a few months do a rematch to give Liddell a chance to beat Sobral and then do the big match on the Super Bowl weekend show. Or do Silva/Sobral and hope this is Silva testing the waters for a permanent UFC jump.

Yeah but Pride's having some serious issues in Japan and they probably won't be paying as much in the near future. They've been dropped by the main tv station that carries them and others are seriously considering severing ties over one of the owners ties to the Yakuza and how deeply they are said to be involved.
If things go badly a lot of talent could be flooding into the UFC once December comes around.

I would love to see Fedor, Henderson, CroCop, Nog all on a more regular basis.

Silva makes at like 600k afight with pride- no way UFC would pay him that much, Only in his dreams. Closer to $2-300k. VS will get a matching bonus for the UFC appearance similar to what Royce got from K1/UFC for the Hughes fight. They have until November to build up the Pride Invasion card (Silva, Baroni and Fujita are definite at this point) and 'rushing the big announcement' without also investing time to build up Sobral indicates how little confidence UFC has in the Liddell/Sobral main event. From top to bottom UFC 62 is a solid card from the standpoint of a knowledgeable MMA fan...but that type of fan isn't what's driving business forward.
LWPD (Babalu at this point comes off as an after thought and it's very weak that he didn't receive any direct promotion for the _MAIN EVENT_ he's supposed to help sell for the next show...from a marketing stand point a Babalu victory is the worst thing that could happen for UFC'S momentum)
