Heath did have one pro wrestling match back in 2003 as he teamed up with Terry Funk

Speaking of Heath I hear he jumped the gun at his latest match knocking (insert fighters name here) before the bell rang. Sounds like my prediction about his stock falling isn't to far of the mark.

its horrible... why would UFC want him if he falls out of Japan's grace? He'd just make them look bad by tearing through the weak heavyweight division and he'd want some kind of higher billing. KOTC, Cage Rage, Gladiator's Challenge or just retirement?
I don't see this going to far. Pro Wrestling angle.

You assume Dana White at all costs is a gutless coward for no other reason than you don't like him. He actively supported Chuck's visit to Pride, he's let Chuck attempt to call out Rampage, and even let Wanderlei come on the ufc tv and tease a match. People talk about how Dana (okay not people, but 3 posters with 20 poster names each at Sherdog) is keeping Babalu down just because he's not American. He was given a shot at the ufc's golden boy once, there just putting him through the ringer before he gets back.
The ufc tends to jerk people around for a title shot (in most cases) if it's a rematch. Look at GSP. I'm sure if Herring came to the UFC he's have to jump at least 3 to 4 matches before he'd ever see a title shot.
But, Herring is charismatic, likeable, and someone American UFC fans would pay money to see if they simply got to see him fight. Hell it's a miracle all things considered he wasn't in the ufc in the first place if you look at him. He lookes like a square peg in Pride (which in truth is part of his appeal).
Hay, after B.J. Penn anything's possible.
Now, not to sing Chuck's prazes, but if Dana White was truely scared out of his minf of letting any challenge come in and make his company look weak why in the blue hell did he let Jeremy Horn face Chuck? Hell that might have been a huge embersedment to the company if Horn would have won.
Jeremy Horn fighting style... isn't exactly crowd pleasing. (While I'm not a big fan of his) I respect his talent and all, but lets be honest. I think the only thing bad that can happen to a weight division is to have a boring champ. Heath Herring 1 has an American flavor, 2 is pretty damn exciting, 3 just proved he has a little bit of a short temper and a bad boy persona that Dana's been out fighting for (or why else would he have brought back TIto).

Brought this thread back since it looks like Bas Rutten is back in PRIDE. Happy days are here again! From MMAWeekly:
MMAWeekly.com has had it confirmed that Bas Rutten is back commentating for the Pride Fighting Championships. Many fans converged in Los Angeles tonight for the autograph signing of Shogun and Ninja Rua at a Best Buy in Los Angeles Tuesday Night and Bas confirmed it to many of the fans in attendance.
"I'm happy Bas is coming back..." Chris Garcia of Los Angeles told MMAWeekly.com. Garcia after asking if Bas is back said quote "Bas told me he has signed a new deal which is good news and he will be back."
Frank Trigg was originally brought in to do the Bushido show every other month and will now go back to that role working on the Bushido broadcasts. Rutten's contract dispute has evidentially been worked out and Bas will be back on the pay per view shows for the regular Pride events, while Trigg will be back working the Bushido broadcasts.
It's uncertain which broadcaster will be doing the regular Fox Sports Network show. MMAWeekly.com contacted Pride and they did not have a comment about the story.

Bas must have scared them by being so visual in Ludwig's corner a week ago

Bas must have scared them by being so visual in Ludwig's corner a week ago Crafty move. Shame really I can only assume Ludwig really gained from Bas influence. He'll be missed.

I agree smart move by Bas if he meant to get him so visible on camera during the last Ultimate Fight Night to get PRIDE to offer him a new deal. With the Rogan and Goldberg pretty bad at the last Ultimate Fight Night, UFC might have considered giving Bas a shot in the future.
I don't think PRIDE will mind too much about Bas being in Ludwig's corner on UFC shows. Leben had Matt Hume in his corner during the last Ultimate Fight Night, and Hume had just cornered Sakurai on New Year's Eve.

Well that's corners. I've seen Randy Corner at Pride. I'm not sure what to make of it. I'm really curious to see if Bas will choose to corner Ludwig... i had the feeling that was Bas.. keeping in the spotlight.
