is the Deuce gone?
I've been gone for a few weeks and I used to be able to get on the Deuce at work but it stopped working. This site is blocked at my work. I don't see a link from the main site anymore either.
what happened?

Yep, the Deuce closed up shop. But this board is still going strong.

Thank God
It's like Wal-Mart vs. a mom and pop. The mom and pop can stick around for a while but we all know how its going to end.

Wal-Mart is in no way, shape, or form evil.
I thought it was a fitting analogy.

Although I usually never go there for any other reason, I almost always get my WWE DVDs from Wal-Mart.
Wal-Mart usually has the WWE DVDs at a lower price than other stores and sometimes even has bonus exclusive materials (like the 4th disc in the Hogan Anthology I got from Wal-Mart last year). Plus, there is a Wal-Mart right next door to the gym I go to about 6 days a week anyways, so it's convenient for me to get my WWE DVDs there.
One of my friends criticizes me for going to Wal-Mart for WWE DVDs. But if I don't go to Wal-Mart for my WWE DVDs than I actually have to go further out of my way, usually have to pay extra money, and sometimes miss out on bonus discs. So as long as I go to the gym right next door there anyways, it only makes sense to get my DVDs from Wal-Mart.

There is nothing wrong with trying to make a profit. Wal-Mart provides millions of jobs to communities that are often dying before Wal-Mart arrives. Is there some bad there? Yeah, probably; but there are a lot of good things that come from Wal-Mart trying to make money.

Whether not you're a fan of Wal-Mart (I'm not) you have to admire the founder Sam Walton for being a entrepreneurial genius

the main thing i dislike about Wal-Mart...and the reason i really hate going there...There is absolutely no where to walk in the store without having to dodge other shoppers. Not only do they pack the "shopping areas" but they pack the aisles with displays as well. I hate having to dodge people or even worse get stuck behind gawkers who could care less that they are blocking the only path through the store in that area!
As Mr. Vegas said they have great prices on DVDs and on a lot of other merchandise as well...I just wish they would try to leave space in the store for people to walk!

Hearing this place compared to Wal-Mart just made me throw up a little in my mouth. Wal-Mart is evil. No they aren't. No one forces people to work there. People think that saving 3 cents on everything is great but they don't have any full time employees so they don't have to pay any benefits. Here, work 35 hours and be our slave but you get none of the benefits that a regular worker would get. It just sucks. It's a bush league move. I know they can do whatever they want and people don't have to work there, but I can still think they are low class and evil.

I just don't like the cramped aisles and long lines. I'll pay the extra $.05 and go to Target any day of the week.

I know they can do whatever they want and people don't have to work there, but I can still think they are low class and evil. Actuallly, I work there. I work 40+ hours every week. I am a full time employee & actually have excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401K, profit sharing, & the often looked over: job security. The reason that Wal-Mart looks to hire part-time employees has nothing to do with not paying benefits, it has to do with a 2 vs. 1 principle. 2 part-time associats vs. 1 full-time associate. Wal-Mart would like their ratio of part-time vs. full-time associates to be 60% vs. 40%. At my store it is actually reversed. Wal-Mart is nice enough to actually make you full-time if you work more than 34 hours for 6 weeks in a row. What happens more times than not is when a new store opens everyone that is hired in for setup works so many hours before the store actually opens that everyone begins as full-time. Wal-Mart is also the hardest place to get fired from. The company actually gives you 7 chances to correct your wrong doing before you get fired for it. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Wal-Mart is great or anything, I am just correcting your misconceptions about my company. I am a college graduate who chooses to work where I work. I could be sitting in an office listening to other people's problems for 60 hours a week if I wanted to work within my field of degree. Instead, I work Monday - Friday during the daytime, have every holiday off & paid. Get 3 weeks of paid vacation every year (soon to be 4 weeks) & 2 weeks of paid personal time every year. I am paid very comfortably for what I do & the benefits are outstanding. Even better, I employ a staff of 12 during the year, that I have the pleasure of hiring & evaluating. Its not such a bad place to work actually.

I had a friend in college that worked there in HS and he said what I had said in my earlier post. Maybe it used to be that way and they've seen the light or something.
