Looking For New Employees

Hey Guys,
I own a mobile DJ company and this is my slow time of year. It's also the time of year I look for new talent for the upcoming busy season (April-October). I have 4 guys working for me now, but I'd like to add 1 or 2 more on for the upcoming year.
In the past, I've placed want ads in the newspaper but I'm tired of doing that because a bunch of idiots end up calling and wasting my time telling me how good they are and how they have enough speakers to play a stadium (If you're that good, why are you calling me looking for work?). Last year, I had about 15 people call and only hired one because the others either lived too far away to work reguarly or were just idiots.
Since DJing is a performance business, I have to be very particular about who I hire. They have to be technically good at what they do, but also an extreme professional because they have to deal with many brides and grooms. At a wedding, you only get one chance to get it right (90% of my work is weddings).
Anyway, I wanted to search online for new talent this year, thinking I might find a few diamonds in the rough, but I don't want to fork out the $575 that Monster wants for me to do a "Resume Search". I don't want to post a job because people don't neccessarily look online for part-time DJ work. I've noticed (during a free test run on Monster) that many people who are looking for "real" jobs also list that they have some DJ experience. These are the people I'd like to find, but I'd have to pay the $575 to see these people's names and get their contact info.
So, does anybody have any other ideas which I could try? Perhaps a free job search site or something like that? I've been searching for about an hour now and I'm tired of it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
