I'm in the middle of the Tolkien's Simarrilion right now. Of course, I already read Hobbit and Lord of the Rings Also, reading Stephen King's Dark Tower series and George RR Martin's Song of Ice and Fire. I also want to read Legends 1 and 2, Jordan's New Spring (eventhough, though I am thoroughly ticked-off with Jordan's I'm-not-purposely-but-really-am-dragging-it-on of the Wheel of Time series), and Wrestlecrap Silmarillion is really good, especially after the first 80 pages. George RR Martin is depressing .... as for Jordan....

George RR Martin is depressing Man, you ain't lying! Those books test your heart... shocking and sadness-wise. It's like the first season of HBO's prison drama, Oz. To the Martin uninitiated, don't go getting too attached to any one character. So far, I consider the Song of Ice and Fire series the best I've ever read. Now, if only book Four will come out. The wait is maddening

Two words to start with, DOUGLAS ADAMS! OK, now with that out of the way, I read mostly odds and end I pick up seemingly at random (though there are some simularities). I have read all the Dinotopia books (even the ones by Alan Dean Foster and most of the children's series), and the Far-Seer series by Robert J. Sawyer. I have read Raptor Red by Robert Baker and loved it. I loved Teatum Brown (if I have to give the author for this one I cry for you). I own the Primal Rage novel and have read it more than once. Jurassic Park and The Lost World. The Hairy Potter books. I'm currently working through the Redwall books. Lost of odd stuff in there, but among friends I'll admit to them. PS: I've read Grunts too, and it is AWESOME!

Big Goodkind and Jordan fan. I'm waiting for each of there new books to come out, but while I am waiting I'm re-reading Sword of Truth (Goodkind) for like my 4th time, I love that series and can never get enough. Jordans is also great but I just can't re-read his books, but I will finish the series if I live long enough.... or if he does.

I am another Pratchett addict. His books are the only fantasy I can still read. I'm planning on re-reading Stephen King's the Dark Tower once the new year rolls around. Because of it, I can't read any more Tolkien-inspired fantasy. The Tower leaves them all in the dust, as far as I'm concerned.
Right now, I'm reading the Faded Sun trilogy. It started out slow, but I'm getting into it.
I also like Christopher Moore's books, the Fahfrd and the Gray Mouser stories by Fritz Leiber, and the Hap and Leonard books by Joe Lansdale. I have a thing for early Elric stories, but am not overly fond of the last few books that "fill in the gaps".

I have to agree Martin's A Song of Fire and Ice is one of the greatest stories ever written. I swear no character is safe. I don't think that fourth book is ever going to come out.
Currently I am reading The Belgariad by David Eddings which isn't bad but it sometimes seems that chapters occur that don't mean anything.
I enjoy the Robert Jordan books but why write a prequel when the major series isn't done. I am terrified that one day he is going to die and the series with him. I think Perrin and Mat are some of the coolest characters I have ever read.
I'm also a big fan of Shanarra books, Tokien, Dragonlance, and gasp...history...but then again I am a social studies teacher.

Yeah, I get vampire books too ala Ann Rice, TANITH LEE, certain Ravenloft books. I like anything PIERS ANTHONY. Xanth was very entertaining. I am reading RE HOWARD's Conan books right now( Thoth Amon is about to get some of Count Velanso and both of the pirate captain have died to those dirty picts). HP LOVECRAFT always amuses. I think Aleister Crowley would be my guilty pleasure. Most of the times his books are uber cheese and nonsense. I'd reccomend; "Blue Adept" by Piers Anthony "Darkness, I" by Tanith Lee "Diary of a Drug Fiend" is actually a pretty good read. Aleister Crowley is disturbing and deprived but then again so am I so I.

I am hooked on the Martin books. I am on book three of Ice and Fire now. I have my favorite characters, but I try not to get too attached. Never know who is the next to get the axe. Anxiously awaiting book four!

Almost exclusively fantasy, everything from epics like Martin and Goodkind, to commercialized Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms. I've of course read a lot of wrestling biographies, and I've probably read books in just about every genre at one time or another. I try to pop a book out about once a week, except the monsters like Goodkind, or Battlefield Earth, which take me a couple of weeks.
