As long as they let ECW do what they were doing that made them popular they could have beaten the WWE

It would depend on who was running things overall. If the Corporate leaders in WCW continued to run the show, it wouldn't matter how much $ was put down, it'd only result in 2 federations getting destroyed.

However if the person spending the $, becoming a primary shareholder, put a single person or small group (say Heyman, Bishoff, and Styles) to call all the shots, it might actually work. They just have to remember they are one single group now working towards their own total success.

It would make things interesting.
