I talked to a few sources and Garrett never had any intention of leaving Dallas. He simply used the process for his own gain, both to secure his spot as next Dallas coach, recieve a promotion and a nice raise. I'm glad the Ravens didn't get him, he has only three years of experience and he has admitted to some that he wasn't ready. His deer in the headlights look at the last press conference confirmed it for me.
Harbaugh is saying all the right things. Word is Cam Cameron for OC and Rex Ryan will most likely stay on as DC.
The roster is next issue to fix.
1) Get healthy. Way too many injuries to overcome.
2) Settle the QB. McNair, Boller, and Smith. McNair should be done and it may make sense for them to try and get a mid level vet (Garcia?) to be a stopgap. But, they do have a high pick. Do they get a Brian Brohm and start this whole process over again? I'm still not sure.
3) Trim the fat. Ogden and Flynn may retire. While Rolle probably should due to health issues. Need to get younger and someone scary on the outside would help with playmaking ability. The core continues to get older and the other major decision is Suggs. Do they franchise him? He underperformed but the guy has way too much talent to let walk.
The AFC North is tough. The Steelers are always in the mix. It took Cleveland this season to become a factor. Improved QB and RB play and they win ten games. Their D was still suspect. That sounds like the Ravens if they get solid QB play, McGahee was a upgrade and played well. They still have enough talent to get back in the hunt even next year.
But, we shall see.
