I really wish that the Cubs would just decide whether or not they suck. 8-4 against some fairly tough competition in their last twelve, and they've been without Aramis Ramirez for most of that time. They're doubtless just getting my hopes back up so they can rip off another big string of losses to crush me.

That game was a good example of how stupid most Cubs fans are. BDS, you always joke about our drunken idiots how about yours. Two fan interferences and then almost a third on the HR that just cleared the basket.

At least your drunken idiots never started a Goat Prophecy fulfilling meltdown that cost your boys a World Series birth. Effing Bartman.

Well, I think after this weekend, it's really kind of impossible for my Cubbies to be the worst team in baseball. There's at least one team out there who's they're clearly better than. ;D
GO CUBS!

Come on BDS, they just sweep the White Sox... I expected some sorta crazy banner, and a special thread for mocking Havoc at least... get to it!

Already covered, Wildfire. Already covered ... Are you blind man. Look at his banner. For anyone who can't tell, that's Lou Piniella, Chicago Cubs skipper, driving a street sweeper emblazoned with the Cubs logo and the familiar white W flag hung over Wrigley Field after wins. I can't take any credit for its awesomeness - someone else did it - but it's like my all-time favorite Photoshop job ever. Don't worry, Havoc. I know what it's like to hate your team because they suck so bad. Really, I do; I feel your pain. I wouldn't fight back against someone saying the Cubs sucked if they got humiliated like the Sox did this weekend, so I don't blame you for accepting your team's crushing defeat the way you have.

It may seem significant now but when everything evens out the difference in suckitude will be marginal since both will be watching the Cardinals in the World Seri, ha, ha, couldn't finish it but the point is neither is making the playoffs so any difference in suckiness will just result in a better draft choice.

Actually, the way the NL is going right now, you might be seeing the Brewers losing to Boston in the World Series

the point is neither is making the playoffs so any difference in suckiness will just result in a better draft choice. I don't know that I agree with this statement. The Cubs play in the worst division in baseball, and they've got seven more games against the team they're trailing. The shot for the Cubs to get in is an outside one at this point, I'll give you that, but they've got a whole lot more hope for it than the Sox do.

I'm just keeping my mouth shut. I'm not about to say anything to even remotely jinx the Brewers this year. In fact, even after writing this post, I'm going to knock on wood.

A Cubs fan and a ChiSox fan arguing over who sucks more is like Brian Peppers and Michael Jackson arguing who is less of a total fucking weirdo.

Hey, why don't you go teach your pitchers how to throw to the right base. We've apparently lost josharpie so I figured it was a while since it's been said.

Not too late -- I knocked on wood! It's all good. Just so long as the Cubs remain the Cubs! You guys better live up to your history!

I'm shelving my optimism until August 1st. We'll see what the two teams look like (and their various places in the standings) then. If the Cubs go out and pull a bat out of thin air, then maybe I start to get excited about things. Maybe.
We're still way better than the White Sox, though.
