True, Knapik. So true.
You're more than welcome to come root for the Cubs this playoff season, Knapik. Join me on the dark side of the playoffs, and at last Michael Barrett's failure will be complete!

MATT HOLLIDAY DIDN'T TOUCH THE DAMN BASE! The catcher didn't have the ball, yet still blocked the plate.

MATT HOLLIDAY DIDN'T TOUCH THE DAMN BASE! Yeah, and Atkins hit a homer that wasn't called a homer. Get over it.

How someone who wasn't a D-Backs fan prior to this series can cheer for a less than ten-year-old team over one of the most storied franchises in baseball is beyond me.
I don't disagree one iota with Lou's move last night. He wants Zambrano to be as fresh as possible on three-days-rest when he's facing Mich Ownings, instead of Brandon Webb. Lilly and Hill give the Cubs a definite advantage over the D-Backs in games two and three, especially Hill matching up with Livan Hernandez, and as BDS has stated so eloquently and frequently in this thread: Arizona's offense sucks.
I've still got the Cubs in four. A loss to Brandon Webb is no reason for people to start boarding the hyperbole train.

Cut Knapik some slack, he's had a rough time as a fan the last couple weeks... at least he's not denying the game existed.. that's a good start toward healing

Yeah, and Atkins hit a homer that wasn't called a homer. Get over it. That was disuptable (and was across the sports world). Holliday not touching the plate was definite. Man, what do you care? There was reasonable doubt given the catcher not really having the ball. One questionable call for them, one call against them. Comes out in the wash. Nobody's perfect.

I don't like seeing you in denial. There is no indisuptable, definite proof he didn't touch the plate. There was dirt that was covering the plate and his hand went under Barrett's foot. Just because there is dirt covering the plate doesn't mean it wasn't there. Any replay of the footage if it were a rule would have been deemed inconculsive and the original call would've stood. Plus as Aquinas pointed out, Barrett was blocking the plate prior to receiving the ball which is against the rules.

No, it doesn't. Say a home run was really hit. The game would have been played completely differently at that point. Maybe the Padres would have lost, but maybe not. Maybe adjustments made would have affected the game.
It's very clear Barrett was going for the ball as he blocked the plate. There's nothing wrong with that. I don't what video you guys have watched, but it's very obvious Holliday's hand goes off Barrett's foot and he doesn't touch the base. The umpire stands there with a non-call, then inexplicably decides to call him safe. It was a major error and ruined an awesome game.
I'm not in denial, I'm just putting out there what sports experts were saying about the game. I'm actually okay with the Padres losing... the Rockies were playing much better baseball the last month. I just hate to see officials ruin the game like they did.

but it's very obvious Holliday's hand goes off Barrett's foot and he doesn't touch the base. Maybe you should explain that to Holliday's hand which is bruised from Barrett's cleat when he stepped on his hand.

Barrett's foot, which is to the left of the plate? Sure, I will next time I see him.

MLB Fun FactArizona Diamondback's team batting average for 2007: .250 Carlos Zambrano's batting average for 2007: .247 That's why they're not winning this series. Brandon Webb can only pick them up twice. Chicago Cubs's team batting average 2007: .271 Micah Owings' s batting average for 2007: .333 So I don't think the Zambrano stat means much.

But lets be honest now, Rahl - team batting average of .250? That's like a team full of Neifi Perez. I'm just sayin'.
