They're going to. Betancourt gascanned the game when it was still a 1-run deficit, but Skinner holding Lofton up was like a knife in the back.
Edit: If by some miracle score 3 runs (or maybe more, since the Sox are threatening again) off Papelbon, the rant still stands. Joel Skinner is a cowering imbecile.

Somebody talk Pete off the ledge. My "WHAT THE F***??!"[/b] when I saw Lofton stop at 3rd probably woke up half the people in my apartment building. If I'd been drinking for this game, something or someone probably would have gotten broken. I was that mad, because I knew, knew, knew that Blake wasn't going to get the job done. Yeah, I know, it's nothing to be proud of. Regardless, Betancourt made it all irrelevant by giving up 6 runs...yay? Losing is one thing, but this is one crappy way to end what was a great season. Now we go into spring training not totally sure if we just Mark Prior'd the arms of Carmona and Sabathia and no ring to show for it...oh well. Go Rockies!

We said at the beginning that this would be a great series, and while there were some great games, in the end on one side you have fans who were panicking for five straight days, and the other side you have fans who just feel like crap.
I knew even after Game 4 that with Beckett and Schilling up, we could easily get back into Game 7, where we would just have to pray that Dice-K held up. Still not a situation that you want to be in though, where everything has to go right.
Pete, Rahl, you guys had a great season. You're going to be great next year too. Hats off to the way you played, and here's to hoping we win this year before you bounce back for next season.

Eric:
You do realize that it has suddenly become You & Me vs. The Board. With possible cameo appearances by Wildfire and Highway61Revisited...

Amen, brother Chewey. Definitely have to give a hats off to Cleveland and their fans. Not looking forward to playing Cleveland next season.

Eric: You do realize that it has suddenly become You & Me vs. The Board. With possible cameo appearances by Wildfire and Highway61Revisited... Not true in any way at all. Mr. Vegas last night said some great things anbout the Boston Red Sox here on this very thread because I had money on them. The Red Sox go to the World Seres and Mr Vegas goes to the cashier's window! Who can say a bad thing about that other than a (Vegas) hater?

Colossal meltdown by Cleveland and total domination by Boston.
Looks to be a very interesting series.
Boston will be the favorite for sure.
Sorry Chowd' Nation, gotta root for the underdog in this one.
C'mon, you just won it in '04 and you have the Patriots.

I'd imagine the vast majority of the nation will be rooting for the Rockies.. they're a great story. The network guys will surely push them to the moon too. That's OK, though, because those of us here in Red Sox Nation don't need anyone else to root for our guys GO SOX!!!!! [/size]

Wow..when you look at the list in that way...there might not be but 6-7 guys onthose other three teams combined that could get playing time for the Sox.
The Rocks are a great story, but the AL is really good. And unlike the Tigers last year, this is an experienced team whose best players have been here before and won't be having any mental meltdowns.
Sox in 6.

Now that it's official, I can admit that I have been storing the picture below in my hard drive for the last two weeks in hopes that I would eventually get to use it. And unlike that Grady Sizemore Far Side comic, this one didn't fail on me. ;D
