I almost fell out of my chair when Trot was left in to hit for himself against Lopez, considering he was going to be lifted for the second-baseman Gomez anyway.
DO NOT DOUBT THE WEDGE.
Also, you guys got beat by Tom Mastny. If you Sox fans remember Curt Leskanic grabbing a win in the '04 LCS with his arm almost literally falling off, multiply that by about 37 and that's where "WP--Mastny" ranks on the shock value meter.
This is going to be a hell of a series, folks. Let's enjoy it, and let's us fans on both sides pray we don't have to face Colorado in the World Series.

oh well... it's a shame I didn't get to use this picture... But I agree with Pete. This is going to be a great series.

Definitely going to be a great series, even with ugly pitching performances like that. Anybody wanna trade for Gagne though?

Someone want to take Gagne and Dice-K off the Sox's hands? Please? Wakefield starts tonight's game...ugh, my stomach hurts.

Where are you, Chewey? I need a reassuring hug. We can overcome, we can overcome....

Other than the headline in this paper, this photo is turning out to be a bit too prophetic... Did the Cleveland personnel drug the Boston batters or something? Why are we so quiet in Jacobs Field all of the sudden?

Well at least the sox didn't pay much for Dice-k. You know, I root for both the small-market Reds and the big-market Red Sox, so I am used to both making and defending against the big market argument. Instead of crying over how much the Yankees and Red Sox spend per year, maybe you should also look at why your team sucks so much. Yes, money disparity is a problem, but rewarding the teams that make the least amount of revenue while penalizing the teams that do their jobs and actually market their product is a pretty bone-headed solution. The current MLB revenue-sharing plan is a race to the bottom, with every team claiming that they were losing money and needed more money to compete from MLB until Forbes Magazine called them out on it a couple years ago. Take Phoenix for example. Everyone talks about the Baby Backs, and how little money the players on the team make. Is that baseball's fault that Diamondbacks management doesn't spend? Phoenix is NOT a small market. I think I read somewhere that it is in the upper third of American television markets, and has less than half a million fewer television audience than Boston, while spending only a tiny fraction of what Boston management spends on its baseball team. Proportionally, the per capita television market to baseball salary budget ratio does not match up. When I travel anywhere outside of Arizona or Massachussets, which am I more likely to see, somebody wearing a Sox hat, or a D-Backs hat? Market your team better. Buy more of its products. Be a more passionate fan about your team. Cheer for a team that is actually good at running the business side of baseball operations. Whining about the Sox spending money is like the high school dropout that complains that it's unfair his classmates are making more money than he is because they studied hard and got good grades in school. Okay, end Sox rant. At the end of all of that, we're still on the brink of elimination while needing to win three straight. Of course, we have been in worse positions before and still pulled through.

The problem with Arizona is it's the second biggest retirement location after Florida. Or it's the Snowbirds ( people, mostly elderly, who travel south just for the winter) and they don't support the teams. What ever the reason I don't care because all I know is it doesn't matter if it's the Indians or the HUGE salary Red Sox, THE ROCKIES ARE GONNA WIN THE WORLD SERIES! It's ROCtober baby................

Seeing the Sports Guy cry in his beer is always good for a laugh. Simmons jumped the shark when he pretty much boycotted the Super Bowl because Peyton Manning had the unmitigated gall to win a game against the Patriots.
Not that we've won anything yet, mind you. But I'm feeling pretty damn good right now.

Chewey that's actually kind of funny how you went off on me about the D'backs, since i'm not a D'back fan, i'm a Dodger fan, and they've got a $100 million payroll. The joke was sox fans cry about the "evil" Yankees, when the sox have the second highest payroll in baseball. Or the 29th lowest , depending how you look at it. Oh and the Rockies? We had a Colorado writer on radio here yesterday talking about how they only had 18,000 for a Dodger game the week before the season ended. yeah, much better fans. As far as the old people down here, i don't see many. Maybe they are in Sun City. Mostly now it's people coming over here from California, or elsewhere. By the way , i understand Manny has issued a statement thanking MLB for pushing back game 5 so he can celebrate his home run.

How nice it was to check in during work and see that the Sox won tonight! Once again, let's hope the rest of the pitching staff was watching how Beckett tamed the Cleveland bats. Let's go Sox!!!!!

Beckett certainly pitched like an ace, while Sabathia, after three playoff starts has not.

Hell Yeah!
10-1 Red Sox in the 3rd!
This is awesome because I have money on the Red Sox tonight and last night, when I went to see ROH on The Strip, I didn't exactly do too well at the sports book so hopefully the Red Sox will help me make some of that money back tonight.

And I managed to keep a smile on my face all night at work thanks to checking up on espn.com and reading about the domination of the Indians. Game 7 will be a classic tomorrow night. Dice-K, remember how much Boston's paying you and pitch like there's no tomorrow.

Dear Joel Skinner,
I hope you have to f***ing walk back to Cleveland you pathetic, craven, cowardly, sorry piece of s*** excuse for a coach. It was a decent decision to hold Lofton up as long as you're not taking into account the baserunner, the guy fielding in the OF, who's coming up to bat next, the inning, the game situation, who's pitching, and who's in the Sox bullpen. I know ballgames are not won and lost on one play but that was the single dumbest field coaching decision I have ever seen. I hope if f***king costs you the Pirates job too, you s*** stain.
Your friend, Peter
