Is a way to link back to the current category at the BOTTOM of the page.
I really don't like that after reading through a page in a thread by using the down scroll and then having to scroll all the way back to the top of the page to get back to the category index...
Is there any way to change that here? I have seen it on another board and wondered why we don't have it here...

Is a way to link back to the current category at the BOTTOM of the page. Use the forum jump pull-down menu (below the quick-reply box).

I opened this thread expecting a quote from Batman and I was utterly disappointed.....

There's always the "page up" and "page down" keys on the keyboard you could use.

Hit home and you go to the top. I'd think just holding down the page up key would be faster than scrolling through that drop down window on the bottom of the page. Hit back and you're there.

okay...at the top of each page within a thread there is something that reads like this:
Filsinger Games :: Board Discussion :: Board Issues & Suggestions :: What this board really needs
All of these are links except for the last one as it is the thread you are in that you can use the drop down menu to move between pages.
What i am asking for is to have the exact same thing at the bottom of the page so that you don't have to scroll back up to the top of the page to navigate. It just makes sense to do this because my mouse cursor (pointer) is already at the bottom of the page because it is used on scroll bar or it follows the page down if i use the scroll-wheel on my mouse.
Having to go from the bottom of the page, back to the top is just silly when you can put the same type of link after the last post. I know it can be done as i have seen it at another forum and it is much easier to navigate through.
If ProBoards doesn't support/do that then this is a mute point, but i don't see how/why they wouldn't because it makes the board easier to use...IMO.
Also the "Back to Index" link at the bottom of the page isn't optimum because you really don't have a choice to go back to the same content area only back to the main page...

Secondly, that's exactly why we don't have the feature. I know, but it's all I could provide, because it's hte only constant reference point that I can hard-code into a link. Also, you seemed to have missed my post: while you are down looking at the Return to Index link (when it appears... don't get me started on that), there's a pull-down menu that says "Forum Jump". You can use that to return to the parent forum if you're too lazy to scroll back up or hit the Home key.

Chris...Saw your post...but even looking for the Forum Jump i didn't see it previously. Now that i have located it, I'll try it out as it seems to be the closest to what i was suggesting.
It has nothing to do with being lazy...it is called functionality. The board should function so that it makes it easy for users to use.
Maybe it is that fact that i work with guys that i need to spoon feed on how to use computers and some of their "needs for ease of use" is rubbing off on me. Trust me you, wouldn't believe some of the things i have been asked to research on displaying on a screen so that one of the big wigs won't have to move the mouse more than a few inches...
After reading that last part...some of it has definitely rubbed off...

Totally off the thread's topic, but I understand ENTIRELY what you mean. I've got web design clients who are that kind of picky about their software. I understand it, and I'd probably do it in their situation, but it drives me bonkers sometimes.

This board really needs....MORE DRAMA! Come on Trav. You wanted a ride with me to Galacticon and you wanted me to go to an OVW show with you, I think this is really asking too much. What's that. Wrong Trav. Oops, sorry, nevermind.
