Most the message boards I use have the pre loaded ones i just pick from so I haven't used one from the net before.

Whenever you're at a website and you see a pic you might want, right click the pic then go to properties. it should display an http address of the pic itself. copy the address, and insert that address into the appropriate apce on the modify profile part of this board. as long as the website stays there, you're ok.

And as long as the website doesn't mind the loss of bandwidth. Some hosts (like Tripod) block "hotlinking" of images, so bear that in mind.
